The sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle must be greater than the third side. if a triangle has one side that is 8
BartSMP [9]

1st Side: 8

2nd Side: 2x - 1

3rd Side: x

(8) + (2x - 1) > x            (2x - 1) + x > 8                        (x) + (8) > 2x - 1

       2x + 7 > x                     3x - 1 > 8                                8  > x - 1

            2x > -7                         3x > 9                                9  > x

             x > -3.5 (disregard)       x > 3                                 x < 9

3rd Side: x  ⇒ (3 < x < 9)

2nd Side: 2x - 1 ⇒ 2(3) - 1 < x < 2(9) - 1   ⇒   5 < x < 17

Answer: the 3rd side must be between 3 and 9, the 2nd side must be between 5 and 17

Solve for x. x - 2(2 - 3/2 x) = 2(4 - x) + 1
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

x = 13/6

Step-by-step explanation:

We are the following expression;

       x - 2(2 - (3/2)*x) = 2(4 - x) + 1

       x - (4 - 3*x) = 8 - 2*x + 1

       x - 4 + 3*x = 8 - 2*x + 1

         4*x + 2*x = 9 + 4

             6*x = 13

              x = 13/6

Angle 0 lies in the second quadrant and sin 0 = 3/5 cos= coy =
Elza [17]
Consider the right triangle ABC with legs AB=4, AC=3 and hypotenuse BC=5. Angle B has
 \sin B=\frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} = \frac{3}{5} and
 \cos B = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} = \frac{4}{5}.

Since O lies in second quadrant \cos O\ \textless \ 0 and
\cos O= -\cos B =- \frac{4}{5}.
Answer: \cos O=- \frac{4}{5}.

Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

Within 0.5 of ;

is not ;

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the data:

The actual standard deviation, = 1

;

The range rule of thumb to estimate the value if standard deviation is ;

Estimated standard deviation = Range / 4

The range = (maximum - minimum) values

The estimated standard deviation = 4 / 4 = 1

Hence, the estimated standard deviation is with 0.5 of the actual standard deviation, Thus, the estimated standard deviation is not substantially different from the actual standard deviation.
