So here you first want to open up the parenthesis by using the distributive property. (Is that what it's called)

So basically multiply each and every number by 0.5.

So 0.5 * -2.5x - 0.5 * 4.7 = 16.9

Is what you get after doing that.

And then just multiply the numbers

So

-1.25 * x - 2.35 = 16.9

Add 2.35 to both sides

-1.25 * x = 19.25

And then divide both sides by -1.25 to get

x = - 15.4

So there's your answer.

(Sorry I took so long btw)

Problem page the length of a rectangle is four times its width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 70 cm , find its area.
agasfer [191]
So we can call the width of the rectangle x.
So then the length would be 4x.
The perimeter would then be 10x.
Since the perimeter is 70, we can say 70 = 10x.
And then simplify that to 7 = x.
So the length of a rectangle would be 28 cm, and the width would be 7.
So to find the area, just multiply length by width.
28*7 = 196 square cm
So the rectangle's area is 196 square cm.

I hope I helped!

The first two terms of the perfect square trinomial are given, find "c".
Naddik [55]

Answer:

A.) 36

Step-by-step explanation:

For a perfect square trinomial, a = 1  b = 2x  c = x².  For an example, (x+3)² = x² + 6x + 9.

For this trinomial, divide "b" by 2 to get 6.  Square this number and you will have 36.

x² + 12x + 36
