So here you first want to open up the parenthesis by using the distributive property. (Is that what it's called)

So basically multiply each and every number by 0.5.

So 0.5 * -2.5x - 0.5 * 4.7 = 16.9

Is what you get after doing that.

And then just multiply the numbers

So

-1.25 * x - 2.35 = 16.9

Add 2.35 to both sides

-1.25 * x = 19.25

And then divide both sides by -1.25 to get

x = - 15.4

So there's your answer.

(Sorry I took so long btw)

Apples: $(2x) per pound
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

Shopper spend $3 on Apples, $4 on Grapes and $3.5 on Oranges

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of one pound of Apple = $2x

Cost of one pound of Grapes = $(6x-5)

Cost of one pound of Oranges = $(x+2)

A shopper purchases one pound each of  apples, grapes, and oranges and spends  $10.50.

It can be written as: 2x+6x-5+x+2=10.50

We need to find how much the shopper spend on each fruit.

First we need to find value of x by solving equation

2x+6x-5+x+2=10.50

Solving:

2x+6x+x+2-5=10.50\\9x-3=10.50\\9x=10.50+3\\9x=13.5\\x=\frac{13.5}{9}\\x=1.5

The value of x is: x=1.5

Now finding cost of one pound each fruit by putting x=1.5

Cost of one pound of Apple = $2x = 2(1.5) = $3

Cost of one pound of Grapes = $(6x-5) = (6(1.5)-5)= $4

Cost of one pound of Oranges = $(x+2)=(1.5+2)=$3.5

So,

Cost of one pound of Apple  = $3

Cost of one pound of Grapes = $4

Cost of one pound of Oranges = $3.5

So, shopper spend $3 on apples, $4 on Grapes and $3.5 on Oranges

Describe the graph of a function g by observing the graph of the base function f ?
never [62]

Answer:

Choice 3 is your answer

Step-by-step explanation:

The format of the function when you move it side to side or up and down is

f(x) = (x - h) + k,

where h is the side to side movement and k is up or down.  The k is easy, since it will be positive if we move the function up and negative if we move the function down from its original position.

The h is a little more difficult, but just remember the standard form of the side to side movement is always (x - h).  If our function has moved 3 units to the left, we fit that movement into our standard form as (x - (-3)), which of course is the same as (x + 3).  Our function has moved up 5 units, so the final translation is

g(x) = f(x + 3) + 5, choice 3 from the top.

Write an expression with an exponent that has a value between zero and one
kow [346]
√(4) is equal to 4 raised to the (1/2). 1/2 as an exponent is between 0 and 1 and it means to take the square root.

So, 4^(1/2) = 2 (or -2)
