Answer:

B) y=(x-3)^2+1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given function:

y=x^2-6x+10

We need to find the equivalent function.

By looking at the choices, we know that we have to convert the given function into its vertex form.

We apply completing square method to do so.

We have

y=x^2-6x+10

First of all we make sure that the leading co-efficient is =1.

Since its already 1, so we move ahead to next term.

Isolating x^2 and x terms on one side.

Subtracting both sides by 10.

y-10=x^2-6x+10-10

y-10=x^2-6x

In order to make the right side a perfect square trinomial, we will take half of the co-efficient of x term, square it and add it both sides side.

square of half of the co-efficient of x term = (\frac{1}{2}\times 6)^2=3^2=9

Adding 9 to both sides.

y-10+9=x^2-6x+9

y-1=x^2-6x+9

Since x^2-6x+9 is a perfect square of  (x-3), so, we can write as:

y-1=(x-3)^2

Adding 1 to both sides:

y-1+1=(x-3)^2+1

y=(x-3)^2+1   [Vertex form]

∴ Equivalent function y=(x-3)^2+1

Q3. 100%- 25%= 75%

Cost of table= 75/100 × 425= $318.75

Imagine a new pasture with grass growing on it. Every day after the seeds have germinated, the number of blades of grass in the
Arisa [49]

Answer:

It took 17 days for the pasture to be one-third covered in grass

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets explain how to solve the problem

- The number of blades of grass is triple every day

- Consider that there are x blades in the first day

∵ The number of blades of grass is triple every day

∴ The next day the number of blades of grass will be 3x

∴ The formula to find the number of blades of grass after d days is

   x(3)^{d}

- After 18 days, the entire pasture is completely covered in grass

∵ d = 18

∴ The number of blades of grass = x(3)^{18}

- We need to know the the number of days that took for the pasture

  to be one-third covered in grass

∵ The number of blades of grass for 1/3 covered = (\frac{1}{3})x(3)^{18}

∴ (\frac{1}{3})x(3)^{18}=x(3)^{d}

- Remember  \frac{1}{3}=3^{-1}

∴ 3^{-1}x(3)^{18}=x(3)^{d}

- Remember we add the power of the same bases when we

 multiply them

∴ x(3)^{-1+18}=x(3)^{d} ⇒ divide both sides by x

∴ (3)^{17}=(3)^{d}

- Remember if the two bases equal in the equation, then their

 powers are equal

∴ d = 17

* It took 17 days for the pasture to be one-third covered in grass

Find two consecutive whole numbers that the square root of 105 lies between
erastovalidia [21]

Answer: 10 and 11, also -11 and -10

Sqrt 100 is well known to be 10

Sqrt 121 is 11

Step-by-step explanation:

Positive Sqrt is monotone increasing

So Sqrt 105 is between sqrt 100 and sqrt 121

Second answer

Sqrt 100 is less well known to also be -10

Negative sqrt is monotone decreasing

Sqrt 121 is also -11

Sqrt 105 is also between -121 and -100
