Complimentary angles add to 90 degrees.  So if you have an angle, x, and another angle, x - 42, they should add together to equal 90...

x + x-42 = 90
2x - 42 = 90
2x = 132
x = 66 degrees (1st angle)

66 - 42 = 24 degrees (2nd angle)

 *Check  66 + 24 = 90  :)

Complementary angles will add up to 90 degrees.
Let X = one of the angles
Let X - 42 = the other angle
X + X - 42 = 90
2X - 42 = 90
2X = 132
X = 66
X - 42 = 24
Check 66 + 24 = 90

Simplify 18-2[x + (x - 5)].<br> O8-4x<br> 28 - 4x<br> 28 - 2x
densk [106]

Answer:

28-4x

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Open most inner bracket and simplify

=18-2(x+x-5)

=18-2(2x-5)

Step 2: Expand brackets by multiplying 2 in and simplify

=18-2(2x)-2(-5)

=18-4x+10

=28-4x

Therefore the answer is 28-4x

If f(x)=sinx−1/cos2x, then limx→π2f(x) is equivalent to which of the following?
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given g(x) = sin(x)-1/cos2(x), we are to find the limit if the function g(x) as g(x) tends to π/2

Substituting π/2 into the function

lim x-->π/2 sin(x)-1/cos 2(x)

= sin(π/2) - 1/cos(2)(π/2)

= 1 - 1/cosπ

= 1- 1/-1

= 1 -(-1)

= 1+1

= 2

Hence the limit of the function h(x) = sin(x)-1/cos2(x) as x--> π/2 is 2
