Briefly explain one cause of mccarthy's appeal to blue collar americans

One of the reason McCarthy appealed is that union membership increased to an all-time high, white collar workers outnumbered blue collar workers, white collar jobs opened up opportunities to women. McCarthy even give unfair tactic of accusing people of disloyalty without evidence, also used unsupported accusations one after another and only did name calling when senate in session so he could not be sued.
