Notice, the diameter for the smaller circle  is 19.2, thus its radius is half that, or 9.6.

the radius from the center to the outer circle is then 9.6 + 18.1.

\bf \textit{area of a circular ring}\\\\
A=\pi (R^2-r^2)~~
\begin{cases}
R=\textit{radius from center}\\
\qquad \textit{to outer circle}\\
r=\textit{radius from center}\\
\qquad \textit{to inner circle}\\
----------\\
r=\frac{19.2}{2}\\
\qquad 9.6\\\\
R=\frac{19.2}{2}+18.1\\
\qquad 9.6+18.1\\
\qquad 27.7
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
A=\pi (27.7^2-9.6^2)

Need help with this question
mixer [17]

Hey there!!

How do we find the equation of a line ?

Ans : We take the slope and the y - intercept and get them together.

How do you find slopes?

Ans - In order to find slop, we will need to use the slop formula which is

( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

The two points shown in the above question are

( 4 , -8 ) and ( 8 , 5 )

y₂ = 5 , y₁ = -8 and x₂ = 8 , x₁ = 4

Now plug in the values:

( 5 + 8 ) / ( 8 - 5 )

13 / 3

Hence, the slope is 13/3

The basic formula : y = mx + b

Where b is the y-intercept and m is the slope.

We have found the slope, hence, the formula would become

... y = 13/3 x + b

Now take a coordinate and substitute it .

I will take ( 8 , 5 )

x = 8 and y = 5

Now plug in the values

... 5 = 13/3 × 5 + b

... 5 = 65/3 + b

Subtract 65/3 on both sides

... 5 - 65/3 = b

... -50/3 = b

Hence, the y-intercept is -50/3

Now plug in all the values to get the total equation...

The final equation : y = 13x/3 - 50/3

... y = 13x - 50 / 3

Hope my answer helps!!

Answer:

New year Standard deviation = 2255.25

Step-by-step explanation:

     Years: 1994  1995  1996  1997  1998  1999  2000  2001  2002  2003

New Year: 141    142    178     72      219   138     171   134    210    70

Memorial:  191    174    185     197    138   183    156    190    188    181

Formula:

Mean = \displaystyle\frac{\text{Sum of all observation}}{\text{Total number of observations}}

S.D = \sqrt{\displaystyle\frac{\sum(x_i - \bar{x})^2}{n}}

a) Mean = \frac{1475}{10} = 147.5

S.D = \sqrt{\frac{42.25+ 30.25+ 930.25+5700.25+ 5112.25+ 90.25+ 552.25+ 182.25+ 3906.25+ 6006.25}{10}}\\= \sqrt{\frac{22552.5}{10} }\\= 2255.25

b) The standard deviation of the memorial day will be less than the new years day because for memorial day, the data points are not varying as in case of new year. Basically, we can say the spread in case of new year is more as compared to memorial day. Hence, standard deviation of memorial year is less than the new years day.
