So basically all the words found on that page would have to have words in between those two.

Tectonic would be in between them, as it matches tec, but the t comes later then h in technical, and the c comes earlier than the e in teenager, if that makes any sense. (it doesn't.)

That would be the same for tedious and technicolor.

Question 1.
Lana71 [14]

Question 1. It is reasonable to infer that:

Saburo is less afraid of change than his older brother. Jiro thinks the old ways are the right path, and that tradition is the best teacher. On the other hand, Saburo welcomes novelty and embraces the opportunity to open himself to other cultures.

Question 2. Which of the following most accurately describes Saburo?

Visionary and optimistic. He expects that by studying the Western culture, he will have the tools to help his family grow their business, envisioning a path that others haven't considered.

Question 3. According to the passage, Saburo and Jiro's family :

Collected and traded rice with the local community. The text mentions that "They kept storage houses for rice and traded or sold rice to local emplyers for a profit".

Question 4. It is reasonable to conclude from the end of the passage that.:

Both Japan and Saburo's family opened up to the Western world and benefited from the trade. Jiro was swayed by his sensei into accepting his brother plan and later convinced their family, which indicates that people slowly opened up to the foreigners and the trade opportunity.

Question 5. Which of the following is NOT one of Jiro's concerns about Saburo's plans?

He thinks that the financial costs involved in Saburo going to school are too high. Jiro is not worried about the costs, but about the loss of tradition and Japan's glory over the modern American advancements.

Read the passage from Sugar Changed the World. As sugar planters fled from the revolution in Haiti, some moved to Cuba's Oriente
4vir4ik [10]

The correct answer is: “information on weather conditions in Louisiana and the Caribbean”. Taken from the book “Sugar Changed the World: A Story of Magic, Spice, Slavery, Freedom, and Science” by Marc Aronson and Marina Budhos (2010), the details included about the weather conditions in Louisiana and the Caribbean are used to support the claim that “sugar was a killer”. As the text tells, sugar was a killer because of the cold snaps in Louisiana. The authors narrate the details that explain the claim (sugar was a killer). For instance, they narrate that the slaves needed to harvest the cane in perfect rhythm with the grinding mills, and that the entire crop had to be cut down between mid-October and December, and that people needed to work faster than the weather and to keep pace with machines.
