Question

In the United States, older adults often try to look younger and it is considered rude to ask their age. In Japan, older adults are open about their age and are congratulated for it. What does it mean to say that aging is socially constructed? Identify one advantage and one disadvantage that the elderly in the United States face today because of their age.

One advantage is that they can say or do basically anything because people consider old as not up to date or often that elders lost there sense and ability to do normal things they used to do when they were younger. 
But that has con side older american also get treated like children and are talked to differently and are often patronized because younger people often associate how you look/physical with how smart or even well rounded/capable someone is for example; driving

Well, the people in America want to look younger because they are not proud of their age. But in Japan, they are proud of it knowing that in the the future they will be celebrated with the other ancient ones. Today, people still think of it rude and try make up on to change of how they look. The elderly that are embarrassed of it try a bunch of things to hide it. Make up is something that makes you look beautiful. In America, old woman want to still be loved and be beautiful so they tell us its rude to ask about a person's age. Cause mostly a person usually gets offended by it. It isn't too long so I thought it would be good enough for you. :)
