Answer:

It will take 7 workers to do the work in 12 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use proportion to solve this problem, but first, we need to find out if it is a direct or indirect proportion.

As the number of workers increase the number of hours need to do the work/ the time taken to do the work decreases and as the workers decreases, the time taken to do the work increases, so this is an indirect proportion.

Since its an indirect proportion, the arrangement will be different from that of direct proportion, the values will be arranged such that they will be inverse with each other.

Let x be the number of workers needed to do the job in 12 hours

3 workers    =     x

 12 hours     =  28 hours

Cross- multiply

12 x =  84

Divide both-side of the equation by 12

\frac{12x}{12}  =  \frac{84}{12}

x = 7

It will take 7 workers to do the work in 12 hours.

So, 3 workers are to 28 hours and x is to 12 hours. That can be written as

 3     28
---     --
x       12
Multiply them to get 94 over 12. 84 divided by 12 is
7.

Answer:

SAS

Step-by-step explanation:

we know about left and right side of each triangle, both are increased by 20%, or multiplied by 1.2. so it's like zooming, as long as the factor is the same.

And we know that the upper angle is shared and therefore the same.

makes side-angle-side

Find the distance between the pair of points left parenthesis 4 StartRoot 3 EndRoot comma StartRoot 7 EndRoot right parenthesis
Anit [1.1K]

Answer:

Exact distance:  \sqrt{139} units.

Approximate distance: 11.8 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given two points (4\sqrt{3},\sqrt{7}) and (\sqrt{3},5\sqrt{7}). We are asked to find the distance between the given points.

We will use distance formula to solve our given problem.

D=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

D=\sqrt{(4\sqrt{3}-\sqrt{3})^2+(5\sqrt{7}-\sqrt{7})^2}

D=\sqrt{(3\sqrt{3})^2+(4\sqrt{7})^2}

D=\sqrt{9\cdot 3+16\cdot 7}

D=\sqrt{27+112}

D=\sqrt{139}

Therefore, the distance between the given points is \sqrt{139} units.

The approximate distance between the given points is \sqrt{139}=11.7898\approx 11.8 units.

Could someone please help me with this question?
Drupady [299]

Answer:

4 bags

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the area of the ring, we need to find the area of both the ring AND the garden, and subtract the area of the garden, so our equation will look like this:

(38+6)\pi - 38\pi = A

44\pi - 38\pi  = A

138.16-119.32=A\\A= 18.84

So the area of the ring is about 18.84 square yards

If the bags of sand can cover 5 square yards, then we can divide 18.84 by 5 to figure out how many bags we need.

After dividing we find that we need 3 whole bags and about half of a fourth, so the gardener should buy 4 bags of sand
