Answer:

Oral tradition was an extremely important part of ancient society. This is because the modern conveniences that we now use to entertain ourselves didn't exist at time. Books also didn't exist at the time, so oral tradition and recited poetry from bards was the only medium for entrainment and the only reprieve from everyday life. To put this into prospective, imagine that all modern forms of entertainment, including books, were taken away. Entertainment would be a treat when it was possible or when a bard was passing through. Therefore, because of it's rarlty, entertainment would mean the world to you and become the backbone of your society to share what it had learned.

The main importance of the oral tradition of reciting poetry is that it allows for stories to be passed down from generation to generation--stories that often tell important lessons about how societies were formed.

How did foreign policy change from washington to monroe?
Anna11 [10]
The US foreign policy was based on the belief that the US should not get involved in other countries' business unless it directly affected the US. This was during the time of Washington.

In 1823, when Monroe became president of the US, the Monroe Doctrine was announced. This announcement had a huge change in the foreign policy of the US as it stated that the US was the only country that had the absolute right of colonizing any land in North, South or Central America.
This meant that the US opposed Europe and stopped them from taking over any land there.

Explain the causes and effects of european immigration in the late 1800s.
Goryan [66]

Answer:

In the nineteenth century, the United States experienced a significant surge in the influx of immigrants - over the course of several decades, about fifteen million people arrived in the country; such a large number of people wishing to start a new life across the ocean was largely due to the political and economic instability that prevailed in Europe at that time.

In the mid-nineteenth century, again a significant influx of immigrants seeking overseas ‘salvation’ from economic and political instability in their homeland came from France and Germany; aggressive German politics before the outbreak of war forced many to seek refuge in the USA.

At the end of the 19th century, Italy, previously modestly represented in the New World, was left by several hundred thousand people.

In 1891, the Immigration Service was established in the United States, and in January 1892, an immigration office was opened on Ellis Island, New York - its tasks were to verify the identity and health of citizens arriving in the country, and determine their future fate - what way they were going to live in the country, whether they have friends or relatives, etc. Resistance to immigration at the end of the 19th century intensified at the level of part of the American public, who did not want foreign workers who received lower wages to take the place of American citizens.
