The fence you have must fit the perimeter of the rectangle.

With 36 feet of fence, these are the rectangles that you can enclose:

1-ft x 17-ft . . . Area = 17 ft²

2 x 16 . . . Area = 32 ft²
3 x 15 . . . Area = 45 ft²
4 x 14 . . . Area = 56 ft²
5 x 13 . . . Area = 65 ft²
6 x 12 . . . Area = 72 ft²
7 x 11 . . . Area = 77 ft²
8 x 10 . . . Area = 80 ft²
9 x 9 . . . Area = 81 ft²

Slav-nsk [51]

Answer:

64 carnations and 16 roses.

Step-by-step explanation:

The events committee buys 80 flowers

The flowers are a combination of carnations and roses.

Each carnation costs $0.50 and each rose costs $2.50

The committee spends a total of $72

Solution:

Let there be (c) carnations and (r) roses.

So,

c + r = 80 flowers

and $0.50c + $2.50 = $72

This forms a simultaneous equation:

c + r = 80 ... (i)

0.5c + 2.5r = 72 ... (ii)

Multiplying equation (i) by 0.5 and equation (ii) by 1 gives;

0.5c + 0.5r = 40 ... (i)

0.5c + 2.5r = 72 ... (ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii) gives;

0c + 2r = 32

2r = 32

r = 32 ÷ 2 = 16

Therefore, there are 16 roses

and 80 - 16 = 64 carnations

Solve this please with an explanation of process your finding the values of x and y
SpyIntel [72]

Congruent sides, so isosceles triangle. When we have an isosceles triangle the bisector of angle A is a perpendicular bisector of BC with foot D. So x=ADB=90 degrees.

Angle B is 47 degrees and angle y=BAD is complementary, the other acute angle in a right triangle.

y = 90 - 47 = 43

Answer: x=90, y=43
