Answer:

It is absolutely true of today.

Explanation:

Wilde´s sentence is more relevant today than it was so many years ago. Many of the criticisms that can be directed against a free market economy is that people are said to enjoy the possibility to engage in legal free enterprises regardless of the consequences, like the impact they have on the environment, the living conditions of the workers, or the strain on poor nations. Other, more specific examples, would be the hiring of human wombs in Eastern Europe by rich Europeans: the latter know the price that must be paid for a mother-for-rent though they know not the value of human life and dignity.

In Chapter 4 in the book NIGHT by Elie Wiesel, why are the men filled with joy as the bombs fall around them? What does this sho
9966 [12]

The men are filled with joy as the bombs fall around them because they want the Germans to be defeated. Wiesel mentions how they've heard the Germans were losing some battles, but this was the first time they had proof. This shows that they "no longer fear death". They have been living with so much death that it is a regular occurrence. Also, a death that is caused as a result of Germany's defeat is better than a death at the hands of the Germans.
