30 inches of ribbon because in one foot there are 12 inches so in 2 feet there are 24 inches. And 30 is greater than 24 so therefore 30 inches of ribbon is longer than 2 feet of ribbon

Each foot is equal to twelve inches.
2*12=24
24 < 30
Thus, thirty inches of ribbon is longer than two feet of ribbon.

Which represents the solution(s) of the graphed system of equations, y = x2 + 2x – 3 and y = x – 1?
Sonja [21]

Answer:

Second option: (-2,-3) and (1,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the system of equations \left \{ {{y = x^2 + 2x-3} \atop {y = x - 1}} \right., you can rewrite them in this form:

x^2 + 2x-3= x - 1

Simplify:

x^2 + 2x-3-x+1=0\\\\x^2+x-2=0

Factor the quadratic equation. Choose two number whose sum be 1 and whose product be -2. These are: 2 and -1, then:

(x+2)(x-1)=0\\\\x_1=-2\\\\x_2=1

Substitute each value of "x" into any of the original equation to find the values of "y":

y_1= (-2) - 1=-3\\\\y_2=(1)-1=0

Then, the solutions are:

(-2,-3) and (1,0)

If the values in the table below model a proportional relationship, what is the equation for the function?
Jet001 [13]

Given:

The table represents a proportional relationship.

To find:

The equation of the function.

Solution:

If y is directly proportional to x, then

y\propto x

y=kx     ...(i)

where, k is the constant of proportionality.

From the given table it is clear that the function passes through (2,1). So, the equation must be satisfied by the point (2,1).

Putting x=2 and y=1 in (i), we get

1=k(2)

\dfrac{1}{2}=k

Putting k=\dfrac{1}{2}, we get

y=\dfrac{1}{2}x

Therefore, the correct option is A.

Find the area of this parallelogram
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

140 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

The height of the parallelogram is 10cm . And its base is 14cm .We know that the area of parallelogram is product of base and height .

⇒ Area = base × Height

⇒ Area = 14cm × 10cm

⇒ Area = 140 cm² .

I need to find the limit
Digiron [165]
For x=\dfrac{1}{2} the function is undefined.

\displaystyle
\lim_{x\to\tfrac{1}{2}^-} x\sec (\pi x)=\infty\\
\lim_{x\to\tfrac{1}{2}^+} x\sec (\pi x)=-\infty\\\\
\lim_{x\to\tfrac{1}{2}^-}x\sec (\pi x)\not = \lim_{x\to\tfrac{1}{2}^+}x\sec (\pi x)

So, the limit doesn't exist.
