Two urns both contain green balls and red balls. Urn I contains 6 green balls and 4 red balls and Urn II contains 8 green balls

and 7 red balls. A ball is drawn from each urn. What is the probability that both balls are red?

Presumably, whatever is drawn from Urn I is independent of what is drawn from Urn II. This means

P(\text{red from Urn 1 AND red from Urn 2})=P(\text{red from Urn 1})\cdot P(\text{red from Urn 2})

We have

P(\text{red from Urn 1})=\dfrac4{10}=\dfrac25

P(\text{red from Urn 1})=\dfrac7{15}

so the probability of drawing red balls from both urns is \dfrac25\cdot\dfrac7{15}=\dfrac{14}{75}

which of the following expressions represents the product of 3 less than twice x and 2 more than the quantity 3 times x?
kicyunya [14]
First, take a look at 3 less than twice x. Twice x would be 2x and 3 less than it would become 2x-3.

Next, 2 more than the quantity 3 times x. The quantity of 3 times x is 3x and 2 more than that would be 3x+2.

Now that we have our two equations, we need to multiply them together, which can be shown as (2x-3)(3x+2).

Then, multiply the two equations together using FOIL (multiply the first two terms, then the outside terms, then inside, and lastly, the last two terms): 2x times 3x, 2x times 2, -3x times 3x, and 2 times -3, which equates to 6x^2+4x-9x-6.

Your final answer is 6x^2-5x-6.

How you know that the values of the digit in the numbers 1500,000 and 100,500 ate not the same
Sliva [168]

In this number 1500,000,

1 is at million place and 5 is at hundred thousand place

So, the value of 1 = 1 (1,000,000) = 1 million

And the value of 5  = 5 (100,000 ) = 500,000 = Five hundred thousand

In the second number 100,500

1 is at hundred thousand place and 5 is at hundred place

The value of 1 = 1 (100,000) = 100,000 = Hundred thousand

And the value of 5  = 5 (100 ) = 500 = Five hundred

Since the digits 1 and 5 both are at different places in both the numbers so 1,500,000 and 100,500 are not the same.

Roy and Sam start solving the equation as follows.
denpristay [2]

Answer:

The correct option is D.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation is

-3x+4=5x-6

According to the addition property of equality a=b and a+c=b+c are equivalent equations.

Use addition property of equality, add 3x on both the sides.

-3x+4+3x=5x-6+3x

4=8x-6

Therefore Sam's work is incorrect because he make calculation mistake.

According to the subtraction property of equality a=b and a-c=b-c are equivalent equations.

Use subtraction property of equality, subtract 5x from both the sides.

-3x+4-5x=5x-6-5x

-8x+4=-6

Therefore Roy's work is correct because he used subtraction property.

Option D is correct.
