Let
b1-------------> base <span>△ABC
b2-------------> base </span><span>△DEF
A1-----------> area </span>△ABC
A2-----------> area △DEF

we know that
h1=20 in
h2=24 in
A1=b1*20/2-------------> A1=10b1
A2=b2*24/2 ------------> A2=12 b2

if  <span>△ABC∼△DEF
</span>then
b1/20=b2/24------------> b1=b2*[20/24]-----> b1=b2*[5/6]

<span>What is the ratio of the area of △ABC to the area of △DEF?
</span>A1=10b1
A2=12b2
A1/A2=(10/12)*(b1/b2)-------> (10/12)*(b2*(5/6)/b2)-----> (10/12)*(5/6)=50/72

A1/A2=50/72--------> 25/36

the answer is (25/36)

What is the equation in slope-intercept form of a line that is perpendicular to y=13x+2 and passes through the point (3, 1)? Ent
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

y = -1/13x + 1 3/13

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 13x + 2

Perpendicular

y = -1/13x + b

Finding b:

1 = -1/13 * 3 + b

1 = -3/13 + b

1 3/13 = b

y = -1/13x + 1 3/13

I need help fast please <br><br>Solve this and show steps <br><br>4.5×8-(0.4+9.6-(3.6-1.8))<br>
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

27.8

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to do brackets first

3.6-1.8 = 1.8

Then substitute

4.5 x 8- (0.4 + 9.6- 1.8)

0.4+9.6-1.8=8.2

4.5 x 8 - 8.2 =27.8

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
Nata [24]

Answer:

  vertex: (2, -3.2)

  axis of symmetry: x = 2

  zeros: x=0, x=4

  formula for axis of symmetry:

  • x = <x-coordinate of vertex>
  • x = -b/(2a) . . . . . . . where the quadratic is ax^2 +bx +c
  • x = average of zeros, (z1 +z2)/2

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The vertex x-coordinate is halfway between the zeros, so is x = (0+4)/2 = 2. It is where the graph has a turning point.

The vertex y-coordinate is the low point of this graph. It is not on a grid line, so we can only guess at its value. I choose to call it -3.2.

The vertex is (2, -3.2).

__

b) The axis of symmetry is the vertical line through the vertex. The constant in its equation is the x-coordinate of the vertex:

  x = 2

__

c) The zeros of the function are where the function crosses the x-axis. These are marked on the graph with red dots. The zeros are x=0 and x=4.

__

d) When the quadratic is written in standard form, ax^2 +bx +c, the equation of the axis of symmetry is ...

  x = -b/(2a) . . . . . perhaps this is the formula you're being asked for (?)

When there is no equation, the axis of symmetry can be found from the graph a couple of ways. One is to identify the x-coordinate of the vertex.

  x = <x-coordinate of the vertex>

Another is to average the zeros, since they are symmetrical about the axis of symmetry.

  x = average of zeros = (z1 +z2)/2

If the quadratic is written in vertex form, the vertex coordinate is the constant in the equation for the axis of symmetry.

  y = a(x -h)^2 +k . . . . . quadratic with vertex (h, k)

  x = h . . . . . . equation of axis of symmetry
