Answer:

B. Regarding premarital sex, the double standard applies to both men and women.

Explanation:

Double standard is a term used to refer to the way people judge the same behavior in two different individuals. That is, in the double standard, people judge behavior to be acceptable to one person and the same behavior to be unacceptable to another person.

With regard to premarital sex, the double standard applies to men and women, because people have a tendency to regard premarital sex as a normal situation for men, who are even encouraged to practice it. However, premarital sex is considered immoral and wrong for women. Society judges as dirty and prosmiscuses the woman who practices it.

Remaining safe from self-inflicted injury

The priority is safety; the child must be protected from self-harm. Repetitive behaviors are comforting, and unless they are harmful their limitation is not a priority. Although feeding independently is a basic need that may be achieved, it is not the priority. Children who need help with toileting are not necessarily incontinent, and it is not the priority.

Alika [10]

Click to read the passage from "The Tell-Tale Heart," by Edgar Allan Poe. Then

answer the question.

How does the author effectively build suspense in this passage?

A.The use of figurative language

B.The lack of punctuation

C.The repetition of the word "louder"

D.The first person point of view

The right answer is:

The aspect of this passage that most creates suspense in the reader?

The use of figurative language. Thus, option "A" is correct.

How, explain your answer briefly?

In order for suspense to work in The Tell-Tale Heart by Allan Poe, this story needs figurative language. The vulture eye which terrifies and haunts the narrator builds suspense until it comes to a conclusion.

“It was open --wide, wide open --and I grew furious as I gazed upon it. I saw it with perfect distinctness, all a dull blue, with a hideous veil over it that chilled the very marrow in my bones...

but I could see nothing else of the old man's face or person: for I had directed the ray as if by instinct, precisely upon the spot.”

This language is giving little away to tease the reader. Edgar Allan Poe uses figurative language to develop an inventive story that averts a certain outcome with lots of suspense.

Thus, option "A" is correct.
