Answer:

The expression which represents the third side of the triangle is:

                          s-1

The length of the third side of the triangle is:

                    17/3 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that:

The first side of a triangle measures 4 in. less than the second side, the third side is 3 in. more than the first side, and the perimeter is 15 in.

If s represents the length of the second side.

Then the first side of the triangle is: s-4

and the third side of the triangle is given by: 3+(s-4)

                                                                       =3+s-4

                                                                      =  s-4+3

                                                                      = s-1

Hence, the third side of the triangle is represented by: s-1

Also, the Perimeter of the triangle is: 15 in.

We know that the perimeter is the sum of the length of all the outer boundaries of a figure.

i.e.

(s-4)+s+(s-1)=15

i.e.

s-4+s+s-1=15

s+s+s-4-1=15

3s-5=15

3s=15+5

3s=20

s=20/3 in.

Hence, the third side is given by: (20/3)-1= 17/3 inches.

                  Hello!

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*    *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

❖ There will be 16 girls.

The relationship is x4. If we multiply 3 x 4, we get 12. What we do to one number we do to the other so 4 x 4 = 16.

Answer:

To subtract a number from another number, the sign of the number (which is to be subtracted) should be changed and then this number with the changed sign, should be added to the first number

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) Evaluate (+6) – (+2)

= (+6) + (-2) (charging the sign of the number to be subtracted and then adding)

On subtracting smaller number 2 from bigger number 6; we get 6 – 2 = 4

Since, the sign of bigger number is + (positive)

= +4 or 4

Therefore, (+6) – (+2) = 4

(ii) Evaluate (+5) – (-3)

= (+5) + (+3) (charging the sign of the number to be subtracted and then adding)

We know, to add a positive (+ ve) number to a positive (+ ve) number, the numbers should be added and positive sign should be attached to the sum obtained.

= +8

Therefore, (+5) – (-3) = 8
