Hello thee i hope you are having good day :) Your Question: 15-foot piece of string is cut into two pieces so that the longer piece is 3 feet longer than twice the shorter piece. If the shorter piece is x feet long, find the lengths  of both pieces.

so firstly you would do  L = 3 + 2x  S = x  X + (3 + 2x) = 15  X + 3 + 2x = 15

3x + 3 = 15  then you would take away that 3x = 15 - 3  this would equal 12 so x = 4 and then add it 3+ 2x = 3+2 (4) = 3 + 8 = 11   Short piece is 4 feet  Long piece is 11 feet.

Hopefully that helps you ❤

What is the volume of the composite figure. I said 36 but it is wrong.

Answer:

108

Step-by-step explanation:

You are correct for stating one tissue box has a volume for 36.

But notice there are 3 tissue boxes, so in order to find the total volume, you should add them up.

36+36+36=108

If the terminal side of angle θ passes through a point on the unit circle in the first quadrant where x=√2/2, what is the exact
Serhud [2]

The exact measure of the angle is 45°.

<h3>How to get the angle?</h3>

We know that the terminal side passes through a point of the form (√2/2, y).

Notice that the point is on the unit circle, so its module must be equal to 1, so we can write:

1 = \sqrt{( \frac{\sqrt{2} }{2} )^2 + y^2} \\\\1^2 = \frac{2}{4} + y^2\\1 - 1/2 = y^2\\\\1/\sqrt{2} = y

We know that y is positive because the point is on the first quadrant.

Now, we know that our point is:

(√2/2, 1/√2)

And we can rewrite:

√2/2 = 1/√2

So the point is:

( 1/√2,  1/√2)

Finally, remember that a point (x, y), the angle that represents it is given by:

θ = Atan(y/x).

Then in this case, we have:

θ = Atan(1/√2/1/√2) = Atan(1) = 45°
