Answer:

Blank A : Fran's food

Blank B : Diane's Deli

Blank C : Fran's food

Step-by-step explanation:

Nina shops at two different stores Fran's Foods and Diane's Deli.

comparison of prices of items on both stores :

Price of cereal at Fran's food :

∵ The price of 16\frac{2}{3} or \frac{50}{3} ounces cereal = $3.36

∴ The price of 1 ounce cereal = \frac{3.36}{\frac{50}{3}}

                                                 = \frac{3.36\times 3}{50}

                                                 = $0.2016

Price of cereal at Diane's Deli :

∵ The price of 24\frac{3}{5} or \frac{123}{5} ounces of cereal = $5.52

∴ the price of 1 ounce of cereal = \frac{5.52}{\frac{123}{5}}

                                                    = \frac{5.52\times 5}{123}

                                                    = $0.2244

For cereal Fran's food is better buy

Price of Apple sauce at Fran's food :

∵ the price of 10\frac{1}{5} or \frac{51}{5} ounces apple sauce = $3.80

∴ the price of 1 ounce apple sauce = \frac{3.80}{\frac{51}{5} }

                                                          = \frac{3.80\times 5}{51}

                                                          = $0.3725

Price of apple sauce at Diane's Deli :

∵ the price of 4\frac{2}{7} or \frac{30}{7} ounces apple sauce = $0.86

∴ the price of 1 ounce apple sauce = \frac{0.86}{\frac{30}{7} }

                                                          = \frac{0.86\times 7}{30}

                                                          = $0.2006

For apple sauce Diane's Deli is better buy

Price of soup at Fran's food :

∵ the price of 16\frac{1}{2} or \frac{33}{2} ounces soup = $1.99

∴ the price of 1 ounce soup = \frac{1.99}{\frac{33}{2} }

                                                          = \frac{1.99\times 2}{33}

                                                          = $0.1206

Price of soup at Diane's Deli :

∵ the price of 24\frac{3}{4} or \frac{99}{4} ounces soup = $3.99

∴ the price of 1 ounce soup = \frac{3.99}{\frac{99}{4} }

                                              = \frac{3.99\times 4}{99}

                                             = $0.1612

Answer:

Blank A: The better buy is Fran's

Blank B: The better buy is Diane's

Blank C: The better buy is Fran's

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets explain how to solve the problem

- The better buy is the cheapest price

# Blank A

∵ The Fran's foods price is $3.36 for 16 2/3 ounces

∴ The price of each ounce = 3.36 ÷ 16 2/3 = $0.2016

∵ The Diane's Deli price is $5.52 for 24 3/5 ounces

∴ The price of each ounce = 5.52 ÷ 24 3/5 = $0.2244

∵ The price per ounce in Fran’s Foods store less than Diane’s Deli

∴ The better buy is Fran's

# Blank B

∵ The Fran's foods price is $3.80 for 10 1/5 ounces

∴ The price of each ounce = 3.80 ÷ 10 1/5 = $0.3725

∵ The Diane's Deli price is $0.86 for 4 2/7 ounces

∴ The price of each ounce = 0.86 ÷ 4 2/7 = $0.2007

∵ The price per ounce in Diane’s Deli store less than Fran’s Foods

∴ The better buy is Diane's

# Blank C

∵ The Fran's foods price is $1.99 for 16 1/2 ounces

∴ The price of each ounce = 1.99 ÷ 16 1/2 = $0.1206

∵ The Diane's Deli price is $3.99 for 4 2/7 ounces

∴ The price of each ounce = 3.99 ÷ 24 3/4 = $0.1612

∴  The price per ounce in Fran’s Foods store less than Diane’s Deli

∴ The better buy is Fran's

I need to write a decimal where the value of a digit is 1/10 as much as a digit in another place
KengaRu [80]
1/10 is the same as saying 10 times less

Refer to the diagram below
The digit as the first decimal place is worth 1/10
The digit as the second decimal place is worth 1/100 which is 1/10 worth the digit as the first decimal place

Example of two decimal numbers:

2.56 and 2.68

The digit 6 in 2.56 is 6/100
The digit 6 in 2.68 is 6/10

The digit 6 in 2.56 is 1/10 as much as the digit 6 in 2.68

Why does the multiplicative inverse of a number have the same sign as the number?
denis23 [38]
<span>Look at the definition of multiplicative inverse. If two numbers are multiplicative inverses of each other, then by definition, their product will be equal to 1. And 1 is a positive number. If both numbers being multiplied are positive, then the result is positive. And of both numbers being multiplied are negative, then the result is still positive. But if one number is positive and the other is negative, then the result is negative. So if you want a positive result, then both numbers you're multiplying have to have the same sign. And since we want a result of 1 for multiplicative inverses and since 1 is positive, then the numbers being multiplied have to have the same sign.</span>

Simplified form of expression 125 2/3
masha68 [24]

Answer:

377/3

Step-by-step explanation:

In general if we have a fraction ( mixed) as ,

a\dfrac{c}{d}

Then the improper fraction will be ,

<u>Improper</u><u> fraction</u><u> </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u>

\dfrac{ d\times a + c}{d}

Using this concept we have ,

→ 125 ⅔

→ 125 × 3 + 2 / 3

→ 375 + 2/3

→ 377/3

<h3>Hence the simplified form of the expression is 377/3 .</h3>
