Solve 2 ÷ x =5

Mathematics
1 answer:
Volgvan3 years ago
5 0
So to help with the first one
2 / x = 5
multiply the x on both sides
2 = 5x
divide by 5 to isolate the x
2/5 = x

For the second one
We will use the diamond to help us find the common factor
  \ 1 /
   \ /
    \ /
2 / \ 4
   / 3 \
  / \

1) the product
2) and 4) the two numbers
and 3) is sum

10 is the product and -7 is the sum
so what two numbers (factors of 10)
will equal -7 when added

so we have these numbers that will equal the product of +10 and we will need to find the ones that will equal -7 as the sum
10*1, 2*5, -1*-10, -2*-5
if we add the two numbers we will find respectively
11, 7, -11, -7
As you can see that -2 + -5 = +10 and -2+-5= +10
So we have found the two numbers
now before we factor the expression looks like
( x + a) (x + b)
and when factored looks like
x^2 + (a+b)x + (a*b)
Now we can plug in the numbers and solve to see if -2 and -5 are right
(x + -2) (x + -5)
we will factor it
x^2 +-5x + -2x + 10
x^2 + -7x + 10
so a = -2 and b = -5

Hope this helps :)

for a special concert by a popular band, the concert hall owner decided to charge $20 per ticket for the first "r" rows and $15
Alecsey [184]
R = 16 according to the problem, so the total amount of income will be:
$20*16 + $15*(40 - 16)
= $320 + $15*(24)
= $320 + $360
= $680
that is the income, but the expenses are $275 so the total revenue is the subtraction of those two
total revenue = $680 - $275
= $405

Which container holds more a half gallon milk jug or a 2 liter juice bottle
STatiana [176]
To find the correct answer to the given question, it is important to bring both the units to liter or gallon. Let us convert the half gallon milk to liter. We already know that
1 gallon = 3.785 liter
Then
1/2 gallon = 3.785/2 liter
                 = 1.89 liter
From the above deduction we can conclude that the 2 liter juice bottle will hold more.

Pablo buys a mattress set for 15% of the regular price and uses a coupon for 20% off the reduced price. If Pablo paid $1223.32 f
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

$1799

Step-by-step explanation:

We simply work backwards and write out an equation.

Lets call the initial price P.

First we have 15% off the initial price P which means that we are only paying 85% of the initial price: .85*P.

Next we use a coupon for 20% off the reduced price which means we only pay 80% of the reduced price: .80 * (.85 * P)

We know that the price paid was $1223.32, set that equal to .80 * (.85 * P)

and we find that P is $1799
