A rectangle's length is 4 more than twice its width. Its
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

width = w

Length = 2w + 4

Area = 240 sq. cm

length * width = 240

(2w + 4) * w = 240

2w *w + 4*w = 240

2w² + 4w = 240

2w² + 4w -240  = 0

2(w²+2w - 120) = 0

2(w² + 12w - 10w - 10*12)=0

2 (w[w + 12] - 10[w + 12] ) = 0

2 (w + 12) (w-10) = 0

Ignore (w + 12) because measurement wont be in negative value

w - 10 = 0

w = 10

Width = 10 cm

length = 2w + 4 = 2*10 + 4 = 20 + 4

Length = 24 cm

Which is a solution of the inequality?<br>p + 4 – 2(p – 10) &gt; 0
boyakko [2]

Hi Laila

p+4 -2(p-10)>0

The first thing you need to do is simplify the both sides

So that will be

p-2p + 4+ 20 > 0

-p + 24 > 0

-p > 0-24

-p > -24

Now since we can not have the negative sign in front of P, we need to do something. What we need to do is divide both sides by -1

-p/-1 > -24/-1

p < 24

Remember to change the symbol.

I hope that's help and if you have any further questions please let me know :)
