1st: x = -5y - 5z - 2
2nd: x = 5y/4 - z + 19/4
3rd: x = -5y + z - 20
Not sure if this was correct, but anyways hope this helps! :)

Chegg Detecting acid rain: power by hand. Even though software is used in practice to calculate power, doing the work by hand in
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Solution :

a). Standard error of sample mean =  $\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt n}$

                                                          $=\frac{0.5}{\sqrt{15}}$

                                                        = 0.1290994

The observed mean point be $\overline x$

Test statistics z = $\frac{\text{(observed mean - hypothesized mean)}}{\text{standard error}}$

                         $=\frac{\overline x -5}{0.1290994}$

For the left one sided test, critical value of z to reject $H_0 = -1.64$

We reject $H_0$ when test statics z < -1.64

b).  Value of  $\overline x$  z < -1.64

   $=\frac{(\overline x-5)}{0.1290994}

  $=\overline x  < 5-0.1290994 \times 1.64$

  $=\overline x < 4.78828$

∴ we reject $H_0$ when $\overline x < 4.78828$

c). The probability of rejecting $H_0$ when $\mu = 4.7$,

  $P(x

                            $=P(z

                           $=0.7517$

Y=8(x^2+4)+17+-32 in vertex form
Yakvenalex [24]

y = 8( {x}^{2}  + 4) + 17 + ( - 32)
y = 8( {x}^{2}  + 4) + 17 - 32
y = 8 {x}^{2}  + 32 + 17 - 32
y = 8 {x}^{2}  + 17
compare to the formula:
y = a( {x}^{2}  - h) + k
y = 8( {x}^{2}  - 0) + 17
a = 8
h = 0
k = 17

One-fifth of an unknown number is 16. What is the unknown number?
makkiz [27]

Answer:

It would be 80.

Step-by-step explanation:

You could use the inverse operation to find the number which would be

16 x 5 = 80. You can also inverse it to find the answer.

80/5=16. Hope this helps!

The pressure p(in lbs/in^2) that a 160 pound persons shoe exerts on the ground when walking varies inversely with the area A(in
GenaCL600 [577]
The first thing we must do for this case is to define variables.
We have then:
P: pressure
A: Area of the sole of the shoe
Since the variation is inverse, we have an equation of the form:
P = k / A

We must find the value of k.
For this, we use the following data:
when the shoes have a sole area of 40 in ^ 2 The pressure is 4 lbs / in ^ 2
Substituting values we have:
4 = k / 40

From here, let's clear k:
k = 4 * 40

k = 160
Then, the equation is:
P = 160 / A
Answer:

The equation that relates these variables is:

P = 160 / A
