In a circle, the measure of an inscribed angle is half the measure of the intercepted arc.

2(4x-3.5) = 4x + 17
8x - 7 = 4x + 17
8x - 4x = 17 + 7
4x = 24
x = 24/4
x = 6

AC = 4x+17
      = 4*6 + 17
      = 24 +17
      = 41°

Answer:

The measure of AC is 41°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : ∠ABC = (4x-3.5)°

            Arc AC = (4x+17)°

An inscribed angle: An angle with its vertex on the circle and whose sides are chords.

The intercepted arc : The arc that is inside the inscribed angle and whose endpoints are on the angle.

The Inscribed Angle Theorem : The measure of an inscribed angle is half the measure of its intercepted arc.

Uisng the theorem

\angle{ABC}=\frac{1}{2} \text{arc(AC)}

(4x-3.5)^{\circ}=\frac{1}{2} (4x+17)^{\circ}

2*(4x-3.5)^{\circ}= (4x+17)^{\circ}

8x-7= 4x+17

4x=24

x=\frac{24}{4}

x=6

So, Arc AC = (4x+17)° = (4*6+17)° = (24+17)° = 41°

Hence the measure of AC is 41°

Which of the following is not a correct name for the line shown?
Talja [164]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The line can be named with small latin letters or with two large latin letters which represent two points lying on the line.

Consider all options:

A. Points V and X lie on the line, so you can name the line as VX (true option)

B. Points W and X lie on the line, so you can name the line as WX (true option)

C. p represents the line (small letter given on the diagram) - (true option)

D. You cannot name the line using point V and line p, so this option is false

If a= 30 and b= 25 , find A Solve the problem, round to the nearest tenth if necessary.
Eduardwww [97]

Answer: A = 50.2 degrees

We are given a right angle triangle

Given that:

a = 30

b = 25

Line AB is the longest side which is the hypotenus

Line AC is the opposite sides

Using SOH, CAH, TOA

\begin{gathered} \text{Tan A = }\frac{opposite}{\text{adjacent}} \\ Oppoiste\text{ = 30, adjacent = 25} \\ \text{Tan A = }\frac{30}{25} \\ \text{Tan A = 1.2} \\ \text{ Find the arc tan} \\ A=tan^{-1}(1.2) \\ A\text{ = 50.19} \\ A\text{ = 50.2 degr}ees \end{gathered}
