Under very dim levels of illumination foveas react to increase the sensitivity of the optic nerve. rods are more light-sensitive

than cones. feature detectors in the retina activate. rods fire according to place theory to perceive the available light. the iris expands to allow more light to reach the retina.

Answer:

rods are more light sensitive than cones.

Explanation:

There are two types of photo receptors in retina of our eyes. 1 Rods and 2 Cones. Rods are about 120 million and they are more sensitive then the cones. But the rods are not sensitive to color. Cones help us in seeing the color and there are about 6 to 7 million cones that provide color sensitivity to our eyes. That is why in the dark or where their are dim levels of illumination rods provide us scotopic vision. Because rods are more light sensitive then the cones.

Answer:

The Human Eye:

  • Human eye is considered one of the most delicate, along with being the most complex body organ. It contains the system of specialized cells which can receive different wavelengths or spectrum of colors and then translate or convert these spectrum of colors into the electric signals or charges which represents the different set of information or data regarding the identification of each object and color that it holds. As, the eye is directly connected to the brain and whole nervous system of the human body, while the information received by the brain is analyzed and then sent back to the eye for further operations.
  • However, like any advanced form of camera the human eye is composed of a complex form lens and for the identification of different colors and objects. As, the rods and cons are there to serve different purposes for the eye, the first one is for performing the eye operations in the dim lights while the cons are there for having a more variety or complex form of information about the different spectrum that are received by the eyes. While, the conversion of these spectrum into the data or relevant information is the main purpose of the human eye.
  • The fovea is is the part of the retina which is comprised of the "cons" , as they are there to evaluate the different spectrum and wavelengths received by the eye in a more high beam light. While, the nerves are connected to the eyes, in order to analyze the information inside the brain.
  • The aperture which is either becomes smaller in size or enlarges in diameter is called as the pupil inside the eye. While, the eye has the different small muscles which are there for the contraction and relaxation purposes of the pupil inside the eye. We can just say that it acts as the tunnel or passage way for the transmission of the signals inside the eye.

What is the speed of a 16 cm wave with a period of 8 seconds?
sp2606 [1]

The speed of a 16cm wave with a period of 8 seconds is 2cm/s

How to determine the speed

Using the formula;

Speed = distance ÷ time

Distance = 16cm

time = 8 seconds

Substitute into the formula

Speed = 16 ÷ 8

Speed = 2 cm/s

Therefore, the speed of a 16cm wave with a period of 8 seconds is 2cm/s

The biological roles of complex organic molecules are determined by their shape -- the way atoms and electrons create charge dis
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

a) P_α =  exp (-ΔE / kT),  b)   P_β = 0.145 , d)  ΔE = 309.7 meV

Explanation:

The expression for the number of molecules or particles in a given state in Boltzmann's expression

            n = n₀ exp (-ΔE / kT)

Where k is the Bolztmann constant and T the absolute temperature

The probability is defined as the number of molecules in a given state over the total number of particles

          P = n / n₀ = exp (- ΔE / kT)

Let's apply this expression to our case

a) P_α = n_α / n₀ = exp (-ΔE / kT)

b) the Boltzmann constant

       k = 1,381 10⁻²³ J / K (1 eV / 1.6 10⁻¹⁹ J) = 8.63 10⁻⁵ eV / K

       kT = 8.63 105 300 = 2,589 10⁻² eV

       P_β = exp (- 50 10⁻³ /2.589 10⁻² = exp (-1.931)

       P_β = 0.145

c) If the temperature approaches absolute zero, the so-called is very high, so there is no energy to reach the excited state, therefore or all the molecules go to the alpha state

d) For molecules to spend ¼ of the time in this beta there must be ¼ of molecules in this state since the decay is constant.

        P_β = ¼ = 0.25

       P_β = exp (- ΔE / kT)

       ΔE = -kT ln P_β

       ΔE = - 2,589 10⁻² ln 0.25

       ΔE = 0.3097 eV

       ΔE = 309.7 meV

A 0.10-kg ball, traveling horizontally at 25 m/s, strikes a wall and rebounds at 19 m/s. What is the 7) magnitude of the change
IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

Change in momentum will be -4.4 kgm/sec

So option (A) is correct option

Explanation:

Mass of the ball is given m = 0.10 kg

Initial velocity of ball v_1=25m/sec

And velocity after rebound v_2=-19m/sec

We have to find the change in momentum

So change in momentum is equal to =m(v_2-v_1)=0.1\times (-19-25)=-4.4kgm/sec ( here negative sign shows only direction )

So option (A) will be correct answer
