In the digestive system, Vitamin B12 bound to intrinsic factor (B12-IF) is absorbed through the epithelium of the small intestin

e and delivered into the extracellular fluid on the basolateral membrane of the epithelium by a process called transcytosis. This process begins on the apical surface of the epithelial cell when the B12-IF binds to receptors, and is engulfed into the cell. What is the type of membrane transport at the apical surface of the epithelium?

Answer:

Endocytosis.

Explanation:

Endocytosis may be defined as a type of cellular process by which the substance are brought into the cell. The phagocytosis and pinocytosis are involved in the endocytosis.

Since, the substance has been entered into the cell through transcytosis. The substance is engulfed after binding to its receptor and entered into the cell. This type of membrane transport is involved in the process of endocytosis only.

Thus, the answer is endocytosis.

How do these equations explain why the total amount of O2 and CO2 remains the same?
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

This constancy of the chemicals involved denotes that no particular reaction is taking place on the cells involved. For instance, during photosynthesis it would require CO2, H2O and photons to initiate the process. Thank you for your question. Please don't hesitate to ask in Brainly your queries.

Why are skin cells undergoing mitosis continuously
marta [7]
Our skin cells divide rapidly in order to maintain a protective barrier against infection. The outer skin layer is called the epidermis and contains mostly dead cells that contain keratin.Keratin is a tough fibrous protein found in hair, skin and calluses and acts as a protective coating. The epidermis cells are constantly undergoing mitosis so the outer dead cells containing keratin are rapidly replaced as they fall off, which occurs after so many days. Then the newer living cells start producing keratin, lose their cellular contents, then die and the cycle goes on.The skin acts as a barrier to infection, therefore,it's constantly renewed and repaired.
