20% = 0.20

multiply original price ( $0) by 0.20 for the amount of discount then subtract it

80*0.20 = 16.00

 she will save $16

80-16 = 64

she will pay $64 after the discount

Hello there,

Basic math, The aswer and how I got the answer is

20% = .20
$80 x .2 = $16
$80-$16 = $64

<span>Therefore, if the original price is $80 and a 20% off coupon is used, Tonya will save $16 and will only have to pay $64.</span>

Lisa has a certain amount of money. She spent 39 dollars and has 3/4th of the original amount left. How much money did she have
harina [27]
If \frac { 3 }{ 4 } is left, that means \frac { 1 }{ 4 } was spent. So \frac { 1 }{ 4 } of the total amount is equal to 39.. Let's say x to the total amount. \frac { 1 }{ 4 } \cdot x=39\\ x=4\cdot 39\\ x=156\\

Show how to use the distributive property to simplify 4(5+x)
nalin [4]

Answer:

20+4x

Step-by-step explanation:

Distributive property is quite easy to learn... its just multiplication in an easier form to visualize once you're used to using it.

To first start this problem you want to use the number 4 in the expression 4(5+x). You then want to multiply 4 by both terms inside of the parentheses. So you would do both 4*5 and 4*x. You would then get 20+4x because 4*5=20 and 4*x is just put together as 4x.
