It required China to recognize Korea's independence. China also had to recognize Japan, Taiwan, and the eastern portion of Liaodong Peninsula as fully sovereign. China agrees to pay Japan 200,000,000 Kuping taels. The treaty also opened up trade ports for Japan.
The CCC addressed the problem of unemployment and offered jobs to young men. The WPA encouraged people to volunteer and encourage public works.
