Answer:

x = 5 , y = 5\sqrt{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the sine and cosine ratios in the right triangle and exact values.

sin30° = \frac{1}{2} , cos30° = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2} , then

sin30°= \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} = \frac{x}{10} = \frac{1}{2} ( cross- multiply )

2x = 10 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 5

and

cos30° = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} = \frac{y}{10} = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2} ( cross- multiply )

2y = 10\sqrt{3} ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = 5\sqrt{3}

1. Pretend that in a certain city the number of new cases of a virus was reported to be 800 new cases on Sunday. Let’s pretend t
Neporo4naja [7]

The number of new cases be on Thursday after all of this growth and falling is 956.

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more variables and numbers.

There are initially 800 cases, hence:

Number of cases on Monday = 1.15 * 800 = 920

Number of cases on Tuesday = 1.05 * 920 = 966

Number of cases on Wednesday = 0.9 * 966 = 869.4

Number of cases on Thursday = 1.1 * 869.4 = 956.34

The number of new cases be on Thursday after all of this growth and falling is 956.

A woman is considering two companies from which to rent a truck. triangle truck rental charges $20 per day and 35 cents a mile.
Nikitich [7]

You can solve this question using two different methods. One is obviously a hit and trial method in which you keep guessing a number which gives the same amount of total cost. Second is forming two different equations and then solving them using simultaneous methods learnt.

The correct answer is 75 miles. I used the hit and trial method. You can see 20 + 75 * 0.35 = 46.25 and similarly 35 + 75 * 0.15 = 46.25. Hence the same cost.

Bess [88]

Answer:

\frac{1}{10}  +  \frac{20}{100}  =  \frac{10}{100}  +  \frac{20}{100}  =  \frac{30}{100}

\frac{2}{3}  +  \frac{1}{4}  =  \frac{8}{12}  +  \frac{3}{12}  =  \frac{11}{12}
