Refer to the model below. A science student is camping with her family for one month at Stone Mountain Park. In a journal she re

cords a model of the moon phases she observes. If she began recording the moon phases at position X, which sequence of Moon phase models could be seen by her during the 4-week period?

Answer:

New Moon - Crescent Moom ---- Full Moon ---- Waning Quarter

Explanation:

The Moon revolves around the Earth in a 28 day period, which is approximately one Earth month, therefore S the student has been recording the movement of the Moon for 4 Earth weeks this is a period of complete revolution of the Moon .

Consequently you must register the following phases

New Moon - Crescent Moom ---- Full Moon ---- Waning Quarter

in the period where it begins, it must go through the cycle in an orderly way to the right.

How to solve for time given distance and velocity
Virty [35]

Answer:

Well, I think you're talking about kinematics, especially uniform rectilinear motion. We know that there is a specific equation for that:

S = Vt + S0

With S being the distance, V the velocity, t the time and S0 the initial distance (initial displacement).

From this you can calculate t, if that's what you want.

A glass tube 1 mm in diameter is dipped into glycerin. The density of the glycerin is 1260 kg/m3, surface tension is 6.3x10-2 N/
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

The capillary rise of the glycerin is most nearly  y = 0.0204 \ m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

  The diameter of the glass tube is  d =  1 \ mm =  0.001 \ m

   The density of glycerin is  \rho =  1260 \ kg /m^3

   The surface tension of the glycerin is \sigma   =  6.3 *10^{-2} \ N /m

The capillary rise of the glycerin is mathematically represented as

       y  =  \frac{4 * \sigma  *  cos (\theta )}{ \rho * g *  d}

substituting value

       y  =  \frac{4 * 6.3 *10^{-2}  *  cos (0 )}{ 1260 * 9.8 *  0.001}

      y  =  0.0204 \ m

Therefore the height  of the glass tube  the glycerin was able to cover is

y  =  0.0204 \ m

Jen pushed a box for a distance of 80m with 20 N of force. How much work did she do?
Drupady [299]
The answer is 1,600 J.

A work (W) can be expressed as a product of a force (F) and a distance (d):
W = F · d<span>

We have:
W = ?
F = 20 N = 20 kg*m/s</span>²
d = 80 m
_____
W = 20 kg*m/s² * 80 m
W = 20 * 80 kg*m/s² * m
W = 1600 kg*m²/s²
W = 1600 J
