Answer:

A box of oat cereal cost lees than a box of rice cereal cost per ounce.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

15 oz of oat cereal cost = $3.90

11 oz of rice cereal cost = $3.30

We need to find the which box of cereal cost less per ounce.

Solution.

First we will find cost of 1 oz of oat cereal.

Now we know that;

15 oz of oat cereal cost = $3.90

1 oz of oat cereal cost = cost of 1 oz of oat cereal.

By Using Unitary method we get;

cost of 1 oz of oat cereal = \frac{3.90}{15} = \$0.26

Now we will find cost of 1 oz of rice cereal.

Now we know that;

11 oz of rice cereal cost = $3.30

1 oz of rice cereal cost = cost of 1 oz of rice cereal.

By Using Unitary method we get;

cost of 1 oz of rice cereal = \frac{3.30}{11} = \$0.3

Now from above we can see that cost of 1 oz of oat cereal is $0.26 and cost of 1 oz of rice cereal is $0.3.

Hence we say that, A box of oat cereal cost lees than a box of rice cereal cost per ounce.

A-One Talent Agency has 108 clients. 42 of the clients play piano and 51 of the clients play guitar.
Butoxors [25]

Thwre are 28 clients who don not play any of the instrument using the principle of Venn distribution.

<u>Using a Venn diagram analogy</u> :

  • Total number of client, U = 108
  • Piano, P = 42
  • Guitar, G = 51
  • Piano and Guitar, (PnG) = 13
  • None =?

<u>From the information given</u> :

  • P only = 42 - 13 = 29
  • G only = 51 - 13 = 38

<u>The total number of clients can be related thus</u> :

  • Total = P only + G only + PnG + None

108 = 29 + 38 + 13 + None

108 = 80 + None

None = 108 - 80

None = 28

Therefore, the number of clients who do not play any of the instruments is 28

3. Define a variable, write an equation, and solve the problem. Carla began a
faust18 [17]

Answer:

Carla has been running 7 miles each day for 13 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

Carla ran 3 miles on her first day, 5 miles on her second day and then 7 miles each day onward.

Let the number of days she ran 7 miles each day = x

Total distance run by Carla = 3 + 5 + 7(x)

                                             = 8 + 7x

If her log book shows that she has run total distance = 99 miles

Equation representing her total run will be,

8 + 7x = 99

7x = 99 - 8

7x = 91

x = \frac{91}{7}

x = 13 days

Therefore, Carla has been running 7 miles each day for 13 days.
