A race driver has made a pit stop to refuel. after refueling, he leaves the pit area with an acceleration whose magnitude is 6.3

5 m/s2; after 4.0 s he enters the main speedway. at the same instant, another car on the speedway and traveling at a constant speed of 73 m/s overtakes and passes the entering car. if the entering car maintains its acceleration, how much time is required for it to catch the other car? s

V₀=6.35*4=25.4 m/s the speed of the when car enters into main speedway
S=V₂t
S=73t - distance of the second car
S=V₀t+at²/2
S=25.4t+6.35t²/2 - distance of the first car
6.35t²/2+25.4t=73t
t*(3.175t-47.6)
3.175t=47.6
t=14.99 s

14.99 s is required for the first car to catch the second

Erica throws a tennis ball against a wall, and it bounces back. Which force is responsible for sending the ball back to Erica?
Anna71 [15]

OPTIONS :

A.) the force that the ball exerts on the wall

B.) the frictional force between the wall and the ball

C.) the acceleration of the ball as it approaches the wall

D.) the normal force that the wall exerts on the ball

Answer: D.) the normal force that the wall exerts on the ball

Explanation: The normal force acting on an object can be explained as a force experienced by an object when it comes in contact with a flat surface. The normal force acts perpendicular to the surface of contact.

In the scenario described above, Erica's tennis ball experiences an opposite reaction after hitting the wall.This is in relation to Newton's 3rd law of motion, which states that, For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

The reaction force in this case is the normal force exerted on the ball by the wall perpendicular to the surface of contact.

An ideal gas in a 50.0 L tank has a
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

5.05225 moles

Explanation:

The computation of the number of moles of gas in the tank is shown below:

Given that

Volume = V = 50 L = 50.0 × 10^-3m^3

Pressure = P = 2.45 atm = 2.45 × 101325

Temperature = T = 22.5°C = (22.5 + 273)k = 295.5 K

As we know thta the value of gas constant R is 8.314 J/mol.K

Now

PV = nRT

n = PV ÷ RT

= ((2.45 × 101325) (50.0 × 10^-3)) ÷ ((8.314) (295.5))

= 5.05225 moles

Which organelle produces energy for the cell? a. The nucleus b. The cytoplasm c. The mitochondria d. The cell membrane
storchak [24]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf C. \ The \ Mitochondria}}

Explanation:

Let's examine each organelle and its function.

A. The Nucleus

This organelle is the control center. It regulates a cell's activities and processes. It also contains the DNA or genetic information.

B. The Cytoplasm

The cytoplasm is a jelly like liquid that fills the inside the cell. Organelles and molecules are suspended in it.

C. The Mitochondria

This is also called the powerhouse of the cell, because it produces energy! This is the site of cellular respiration, the process that turns oxygen and glucose into ATP (energy), water, and carbon dioxide.

D. The Cell Membrane

This covers and protects the entire cell. It keeps important substances in and allows them to enter the cell, while preventing harmful ones from entering.

Based on this information, we see that the mitochondria is the organelle producing energy for the cell and choice C is correct.
