The movement was led by Professor Jonathan Baldwin Turner<span> of </span>Illinois College<span>.</span>The Morrill Land-Grant Acts<span> are </span>United States statutes<span> that allowed for the creation of </span>land-grant colleges<span> in </span>U.S. states<span> using the proceeds of federal land sales. </span>
