Given sequence;

1, 4, 11, 26, 57, 120, _

The missing term  =?

Solution;

We need to find the relationship between each term and then we can find the missing term;

      1, 4, 11, 26, 57, 120, _ ;

 let us start with the first two;

       3 x 2 + 1  = 7 + 4  = 11

       7 x 2 + 1  =  15 + 11 = 26

       15 x 2 + 1 = 31 + 26 = 57

       31 x 2 + 1 = 63 + 57 = 120

       63 x 2 + 1 = 127  + 120 = 247

        We see this pattern and can conclude that the missing term is 247

Answer:

247

Step-by-step explanation:

1,4,11,26,57,120. see the pattern that emerges from the series:

4–1 = 3; 3–1 = 2 = 2^1

11–4 = 7; 7 - 3 = 4 = 2^2

26 - 11 = 15; 15 - 7 = 8 = 2^3

57 - 26 = 31; 31 - 15 = 16 = 2^4

120 - 57 = 63; 63 - 31 = 32 = 2^5

so the next number should be 64+63 = 127+120 = 247.

check: 247–120 = 127; 127–63 = 64 = 2^6. correct.

so the next number is 247. 2^n+(n-1)

Ok so the total amount the mom paid is 50.50. It says she bought 10 journals at 2.50 each so subtract 25 which leaves 25.50. Then it says 2 markers at 5 each so subtract 10 which leaves 15.50. Then it states she paid 4.10 in annoying sales tax. So subtract 4.10 and you get 11.40 which is the remaining, which means thatbis how much she spent on a mouse.

The solution to -2[1 - 4x] = 3x + 8 is
kvasek [131]

Answer:  " 14 " .

________________________

     →  " x = 14 " .

________________________

Step-by-step explanation:

________________________

First, let us simplify the expression on the "left-hand side" of the equation:

  →  -2(1 −4x) ;

________________________

Note the "distributive property of multiplication" :

      →  a(b + c)  =  ab + ac  .

________________________

As such, we can rewrite:

      → -2(1 − 4x)  = (-2)(1) + (-2)(-4x) ;

                         =  - 2 + 8x ;

                       ↔  8x − 2 ;

________________________

Now, rewrite the entire expression:

 →  8x − 2 = 3x + 8 ;

________________________

Subtract "(3x)" from each side of the equation;

      and add "2" to each side of the equation:

________________________

 →  8x − 2 − 3x + 2 = 3x + 8 − 3x + 2 ;

to get:

 →   5x = 10 ;

Now, divide each side of the equation by "5" ;

  to isolate "x" on side of the equation;

      & to solve for "x" ;

________________________

 →  5x/5 = 10/5 ;

to get:

________________________

 →  x = 2 .

________________________

Now, let us check our work:

________________________

Plug in "2" for all "x-values" into the original equation;

to see if the equation holds true;

that is, to see if each side of the original equation given has the same value;

      when "x = 2" :

________________________

Note the given equation:

________________________

   →   -2[1 − 4x] = 3x + 8 ;

________________________

Start with the left-hand side:

   →  -2[1 − (4*2)} = -2(1 − 8) = -2(-7) = 14 .

Now, continue with the right-hand side:

   →  3(2) + 8 = 6 + 8 = 14 .

___________________________________

   → 14 =? 14 ??? ;  Yes!

___________________________________

Hope this is helpful to you!

Charlie is trying to cover the shape shown with paper. He will NOT be covering the top and the bottom. How much paper will he ne
DENIUS [597]

You need to determine how much paper you need to cover the lateral side of the cylinder shown in the picture. For this, you have to calculate the surface area of the cylinder, which you can do using the following formula:

A=2\pi rh

Where

A is the area

π is the number pi, for the calculations we usually use up to the first two decimal values of this number, 3.14

r is the radius

h is the height of the cylinder

The given cylinder has a height of h=15m and a diameter of d=6m

To calculate the lateral area you need to use the radius. The diameter is twice the radius, so to determine the radius of the cylinder you have to divide the diameter by 2

\begin{gathered} r=\frac{d}{2} \\ r=\frac{6}{2} \\ r=3 \end{gathered}

Now you can calculate the lateral area as follows:

\begin{gathered} A=2\pi rh \\ A=2\cdot3.14\cdot3\cdot15 \\ A=282.6m^2 \end{gathered}

Charlie will need 282.6 m² to cover the lateral side of the cylinder.
