A shelf contains 5 nonfiction and 6 comic books. Randomly, you choose one for yourself, set it aside, and choose one for your fr
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

As the first event outcome affects the probability of the outcomes of the second event, both events are dependant.

Step-by-step explanation:

The events are not independent.

The reason is that the first event affects the outcome of the second event.

This happen because the if we choose a comic book for ourselves, there is a probability of 6-1=5 out of 5+5=10 of getting a comic book for our friend (P=50%).

If we choose a nonfiction book four ourselves, the probability of getting a comic book for our friend is 6 in 10 (P=60%).

As the first event outcome affects the probability of the outcomes of the second event, both events are dependant.

Factor the polynomial:81m+48mn
Anton [14]
To factor this polynomial you will have to first find the GCF of 81 and 48 and its 3.

So then you put 3 out the parentheses. 3(----).

Then you have to see how many times 3 goes into 81m and 48m. It is 27m and 16mn.

So then this is what you get, 3(27m-16mn)

Hope it helps you!!!

Hi im stuck on this problem, is anybody able explain to me how to do it? This is Two-Variable Substitution
Free_Kalibri [48]
The answer is a. the first step is to divide the whole bottom equation by -1 because x can’t be negative. you then plug in y + 9 into the first equation to solve. so the equation would be (y + 9) + y = 11. you do this because in substitution you plug in one of the equations into the other equation. you then get 2y + 9= 11. you would next subtract 9 to both sides which leaves you with 2y= 2, divide by both sides, y = 1. you then plug the why value into the first equation to figure out the value for x. so it would be x + 1 = 11, subtract 1, x equals 10.

sorry this was hard to explain! hope this helps!
