\frac{9}{16} > \frac{9}{18}=\frac{1}{2}\\\\\frac{9}{16} < \frac{16}{16}=1\\\\therefore\ \frac{1}{2} < \frac{9}{16} < 1\\\\\frac{9}{16}-\frac{1}{2}=\frac{9}{16}-\frac{8}{16}=\frac{1}{16}\\\\1-\frac{9}{16}=\frac{16}{16}-\frac{9}{16}=\frac{7}{16}\\\\\frac{1}{16} < \frac{7}{16}\\\\Conclusion:\ \frac{9}{16}\ is\ clostes\ to\ \frac{1}{2}

other\ &#10;solution:\\\\\frac{9}{16}=0.5625\\\\\frac{1}{2}=0.5\\\\0.5625-0.5=0.0625\\1-0.5626=0.4375\\\\Conclusion:\frac{9}{16}=0.5625\&#10; is\ clostes\ to\ \frac{1}{2}=0.5.

\frac{5}{6} > 0\\\\\frac{5}{6} > \frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}\\\\\frac{5}{6} < \frac{6}{6}=1\\\\\frac{5}{6}-\frac{1}{2}=\frac{5}{6}-\frac{3}{6}=\frac{2}{6}\\\\1-\frac{5}{6}=\frac{6}{6}-\frac{5}{6}=\frac{1}{6}\\\\\frac{2}{6} > \frac{1}{6}\\\\Conclusion:\frac{5}{6}\ is\ closest\ to\ 1

9/16 is closer to 1/2 because 8 is half of 16 and 9 is one greater than 8. so it is closer to 1/2.

5/6 is closer to 1 because 6/6=1 and 5 is just one less than 6. so it is closer to 1.

How would you do this problem
Drupady [299]

It would be helpful to draw out a diagram but I'll explain in words.

We start at 0, ground level.

Then up a 100 metre hill, so now we are at 100m.

It plunges down 72, so we take away 72 to get 28m.

Then it takes them back up 48m, so we add 48 to get 76m.

That means that they are 76m above from where they started, ground level.

Hope I helped!

Whats the reciprocal of 5.87*10^4
Alexxandr [17]
58700 because if you follow the rules of PEMDAS then you would have to exponents 10^4 is 10000 then multiply 5.87 which gives 58700

mash [69]

Step-by-step explanation:

OI= 3.2 cm (same as OH)

To find GI, use Pythagoras Theorem (a²+b²= c²)

6.8²+3.2²= 56.48

√56.48= 7.5 cm

aliina [53]

Answer:  B. H(t) = -6.9(t - 2.3)² + 112

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The vertex form of a quadratic equation is: y = a(x - h)² + k

where (h, k) is the vertex   ⇒    k is the maximum height

the distance traveled is when y = 0     ⇒    x=\sqrt{\dfrac{-k}{a}}+h

Given: H(t) = -7.1(t - 2.3)² + 98

maximum height (k) = 98 feet

distance traveled (x) = \sqrt{\dfrac{-98}{-7.1}}+2.3    = 6.02 seconds

A) H(t) = -7.5(t - 2.2)² + 112

maximum height (k) = 112 feet

distance traveled (x) = \sqrt{\dfrac{-112}{-7.5}}+2.2    = 6.06 seconds

B) H(t) = -6.9(t - 2.3)² + 112

maximum height (k) = 112 feet

distance traveled (x) = \sqrt{\dfrac{-112}{-6.9}}+2.3    = 6.33 seconds

C) H(t) = -6.9(t - 2.4)² + 95

maximum height (k) = 95 feet

This has a lower height than the given equation.

D) H(t) = -7.5(t - 2.3)² + 95

maximum height (k) = 95 feet

This has a lower height than the given equation.

Both options A and B travel higher and stay in the air longer than last year's winner, however option B stays in the air longer than option A.
