1st thing you need to do is to graph the line y = x - 3 as a dashed line, since the it is just a less than symbol. Once the line is graphed, we need to decide which side to shade. I tend to use (0, 0) if at all possible. We check 0 < 0 - 3

Since 0 is not less than -3 then we shade away from the point (0, 0). That is how you find the answer.

First step is to graph the equality
y=x-3

In a graph of y=mx+b
m is the slope, and in this case, m=1, which means that y increases by one for each step in x=1. This creates a line at 45 degrees from bottom left to top right, passing through the origin.

The b=-3 means the line has to be lowered from the origin by 3 units.
b is called the y-intercept, where the line cuts the y-axis (=-3).

So with the line drawn, we need to know the style of the line.

If the inequality is a strict inequality (< or >), then the line is drawn dotted.
If the line is an inequality together with an equality ( ≤ or ≥ or = ), then it is drawn solid.

Finally, an inequality has to be shaded on the side where the inequality is true.

Looking at the inequality, y<x-3 we can read immediately that the valid side is where y is small ("y is less"), so we shade the part below the line.

The finished graph is attached.

In a normal distribution, 95% of the data fall within how many standard deviations of the mean? O A. Three standard deviations B
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

Two standard deviations

Step-by-step explanation:

The Z score is obtained using the mean and standard deviation, according to the empirical. Rule, which gives percentage of values that lie within an interval estimate in a normal distribution ;

one standard deviation lie within 68% of the mean

Two standard deviations lie within 95%

Three standard deviations lie within 99.7%

Hence, for the question given, 95% fall within 2 standard deviations of the mean

HELP PLEASE I NEED HELp
lidiya [134]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

GH bisects ∠FGI

∠HGI = ∠HGF

4x - 14 = 3x - 3

4x = 3x - 3 + 14    {Add 14 to both sides}

4x = 3x + 11             {Subtract 3x from both sides}

4x - 3x = 11

x = 11

∠HGI = 4x - 14

         = 4*11 - 14

         = 44 - 14

         = 30°

∠FGI = 30 + 30

        = 60°
