Answer:

a)   E = -4.8 10⁻⁵ N / C , b) E = 0 , c) E = 0

Explanation:

For this exercise let's use Gauss's law

         Ф = E. dA = q_{int} / ε₀

As a Gaussian surface we use a sphere, whereby the electric field lines are parallel to the normal area, and the scalar product is reduced to the algebraic product

a) the field for r = 30 cm

At this point we place our Gaussian surface and see what charge there is inside, which is the charge of the solid sphere (r> 20cm), the charge on the outside does not contribute to the flow

           E = q_{int} / A ε₀

           q_{int} = -4.8 10-16 C

The area of a sphere is

              A = 4π R²

We replace

             E = -4.8 10⁻¹⁶ / 4π 0.30² 8.85 10⁻¹²

             E = -4.8 10⁻⁵ N / C

b) r = 45 cm

 This point is inside the spherical conductor shell, as in an electric conductor in electrostatic equilibrium the charges are outside inside the shell there is no charge for which the field is zero

        E = 0

c) R = 60 cm

This part is outside the two surfaces

   The chare inside is

            q_{int} = -4.8 10⁻¹⁶ + 4.8 10⁻¹⁶

            q_{int} = 0

Therefore the electric field is

         E = 0

Complete the sentences below correctly. Stunt Car A and Stunt Car B are identical cars with the same mass of 48.9 kg. They are b
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

Stunt Car A experiences a large force over a short period of time. Stunt Car B experiences a small force over a long period of time. Because of the force experienced by Stunt Car A, it will sustain more damage than Stunt Car B.

Explanation:

Both cars have the same mass and velocity, therefore they have the same momentum. During the collision, the total momentum of the car A and brick wall is conserved as well as the total momentum of the car B and the pile of leaves.

However, if we are to investigate the damage on each car, we should look at the cars not the whole system. So, the momentum difference between the cars gives us the impulse that the car felt.

\vec{J} = \Delta \vec{P}\\\vec{F}\Delta t = \vec{P}_2 - \vec{P}_1

Since the Car A will crash the wall quicker than the other car crashes through the pile of leaves,

\Delta t_1 < \Delta t_2

which gives us

F_1 > F_2

A 50 kg boy and his 100 kg father went jogging. Both ran at a rate of 5m/s. Who had more kinetic energy
yanalaym [24]
The father because kinetic energy is calculated using 1/2mv^2, but in this case if the velocity was the same then the mass would affect the calculation, and the father has the greater mass this making him have the greater kinetic energy

A cylindrical tungsten filament 16.0 cm long with a diameter of 1.00 mm is to be used in a machine for which the temperature wil
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

Resistance of the tungsten wire

R = resistivity x length / cross sectional area

= \frac{5.25\times10^{-8}\times16\times10^{-2}}{3.14\times(.5\times10^{-3})^2}

= 107 x 10⁻⁴ ohm

Resistance at 120 degree can be obtained from the following formula

R_t = R_0( 1 + \alpha\times t )

R_t = 107\times10^{-4}( 1 + .0045\times 100)

= 155.15 x 10⁻⁴ ohm

= 160 x 10⁻⁴ ohm ( rounding off to two syg fig )

current = 12.5

potential diff = 12.5 x 155.15 x 10⁻⁴ V

=  0 .1939 V

= .19 V

required electric field = potential diff / length of wire

= .1939 / 16 x 10⁻²

= 1.2 N / C

Work out the current through a television with a power of 0.8 kW if it uses the 230 V mains supply. Give your answer to 1 decima
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

the current is 3.5 A

Explanation:

The computation of the current is shown below:

As we know that

Current [A] = Electrical power [W] ÷ Potential difference [V]

Now convert KW TO W = × 1000

So, the current is

= 800W ÷ 230V

= 3.5 A

Hence, the current is 3.5 A
