Leo bought a used car for x dollars. One year later the value of the car was 0.88x. Which expression is another way to describe
nalin [4]
It would be a 12% decrease. 0.88 is 88% (multiply by 100 to find the percentage) of the original price (x, which is 100%). as an example, say x=1000.

0.88(1000)=880

880 is 88% of 1000, but the original price did not decrease by 88%/$880. Instead subtract this percentage from 100.

100%-88%=12%

there, you find the percentage lost/the percentage of the value decrease.

Plz help this is due tonight and I have no clue :(

Section 1:

using this format we can determine what the answer is:

42 105
—— • ——-
100 x

(the spacing may be off but imagine two separate fractions)

first multiply 100 by 105 to get 10,500

then divide by 42 to get 250

this means that sasha’s book has 250 pages

section b:

using the same formula we can solve this problem:

first we need to multiply 250 by 2 to get the total cost of both tickets

175 x
—— • ——
100 500

(again spacing may be off but think of two separate fractions)

then multiply 500 by 175 to get 87,500

then divide by 100 to get 875

to find the profit subtract 875-500

this means he will make $375 profit

conclusion:

sasha’s book has 250 pages

trevor will make $375 profit

this is the method my teacher taught me last year so it should be right, hope this helps and please mark brainliest!!

Need help for number 4 please
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

4) ΔSTW ≅ ΔBFN . So, corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent.

a) BN = SW                                        d) m∠W = m∠N

  BN = 9 cm                                           m∠W = 82°

b) TW = FN                                        e) m∠B = m∠S

TW = 14 cm                                            m∠B = 67°

c) BF = ST                                          f) m∠B + m∠N + m∠F = 180°

  BF = 17 cm                                                 67 + 82 + m∠F = 180

                                                                            149 + m∠F = 180

                                                                                     m∠F = 180 - 149

                                                                                      m∠F = 31°

5) ΔUVW ≅ ΔTSR

UV = TS

12x - 7 = 53

   12x   = 53+7

   12x = 60

      x = 60/12

      x = 5

UW =TR

3z +14 = 50

    3z = 50 - 14

   3z = 36

     z = 36/3

    z = 12

SR =VW

5y - 33 = 57

     5y = 57 + 33

     5y = 90

       y = 90/5

       y = 18

7) ΔPHS ≅ ΔCNF

∠C = ∠P

4z - 32 = 36

      4z = 36 + 32

       4z = 68

        z = 68/4

       z = 17

∠H = ∠N

6x - 29 = 115

  6x     = 115 + 29

      6x = 144

        x = 144/6

       x = 24

∠P + ∠H + ∠S = 180   {Angle sum property of triangle}

36 +115 + ∠S = 180

      151   + ∠S = 180

                ∠S = 180 - 151

               ∠S = 29°

∠F = ∠S

3y - 1 = 29

   3y = 29 + 1

  3y = 30

    y = 30/3

    y = 10

8) ΔDEF ≅ ΔJKL

DE = 18    ;  EF = 23

DF = 9x - 23

JL= 7x- 11

DF = JL           {Corresponding parts of congruent triangles}

      9x - 23 = 7x - 11

9x  - 7x - 23 = -11

        2x - 23 = -11

               2x = -11 + 23

               2x = 12

                 x = 12/2

                x = 6

JK   = DE           {Corresponding parts of congruent triangles}

3y - 21  = 18

       3y = 18 + 21

        3y = 39

         y = 39/3

        y = 13

Bobs hardware sells buckets in 5 different sizes. The tiny bucket holds 5 quarts, the small holds 10 quarts, the medium holds 20
Sphinxa [80]

Bob's hardware sells buckets in five different sizes.

The tiny bucket holds 3 quarts,

The small bucket holds 6 quarts,

The medium bucket holds 12 quarts,

The large bucket holds 24 quarts and

There is a relation between the size of the bucket and its volume.

We could see with increase in size the units of quarts double

Therefore the extra large bucket will hold 24*2 = 48 quarts
