Confucianism, as its founder taught, is not a religion in the traditional sense. It is an ethical code. Chinese culture was steeped in the religion of animism, a belief that gods and spirits dwell in natural formations. Along with an animistic world view, there was a belief in ancestor worship. The spirits of the dead needed to be honored and cared for by the living family members. However, in his teachings, Confucius avoided spiritual issues. He can be categorized as an agnostic who believed in spirits and the supernatural but was not interested in them. He was humanistic and rationalistic in his outlook. "His position on matters of faith was this: whatever seemed contrary to common sense in popular tradition and whatever did not serve any discover able social purpose, he regarded coldly." The answer to the cultural and social problems was found in humanity itself, not in anything supernatural. Confucius beliefs were edited by his later disciples:)

Confucianism is an ethical and philosophical system that is normally considered one of the world religions. It originated in China but has spread to Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Most people who adhere to the teachings of Confucius follow Chinese traditional religion, which is a blending of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and traditional local practices and beliefs.

Confucianism is more of a belief system about social order than it is one about God, the existence of god. There is piety towards god but god itself is not set in stone.

Soviet Leader Gorbachev began making changes in his country in an attempt to improve conditions there. These included "glasnost"
Bumek [7]

Answer: the policy or practice of more open consultative government and wider dissemination of information, initiated by leader Mikhail Gorbachev from 1985.

Explanation: In the Russian language the word glasnost has several general and specific meanings. It has been used in Russian to mean "openness and transparency" since at least the end of the eighteenth century. In the Russian Empire of the late-19th century, the term was particularly associated with reforms of the judicial system, ensuring that the press and the public could attend court hearings and that the sentence was read out in public. In the mid-1980s, it was popularised by Mikhail Gorbachev as a political slogan for increased government transparency in the Soviet Union. For centuries", human rights activist Lyudmila Alexeyeva has explained, the word glasnost has been in the Russian language: "It was in the dictionaries and lawbooks as long as there had been dictionaries and lawbooks. It was an ordinary, hardworking, non-descript word that was used to refer to a process, any process of justice or governance, being conducted in the open."[2] In the mid-1960s, however, as Alexeyeva recounts, it acquired a new and topical importance.

Thomas Jefferson . Patrick Henry . George Washington What do the people listed in the box above have in common? OA. They all ser
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

D. They all served in the House of Burgesses.

Explanation:

It is not A, because only Patrick Henry served as governor, in this case the governor of Virginia.

It is not B, because they were fighting for the US independence, and were living in the US, not in Britain. Therefore, they cannot be part of the British Parliament while fighting the British.

George Washington is known for his extensive role as military officer and later commander in chief, and did not play a large role as an ambassador to England, and so it is not C.

coldgirl [10]
The president is using the peripheral-route processing form of the elaboration likelihood model.
It means that the listener will decide whether or not to believe in something based on the attractiveness of the speaker/his words, and not the message itself. So, they won't really pay much attention to what the president actually said, but given that he is the president, the listeners may choose to believe him solely because of that fact.

miss Akunina [59]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Webber's law describes the relationship between change in human perception and the change in causative stimuli. It states that a noticable change in perception is a direct ratio of the change in the causative stimuli. Therefore Tammy should wait until most of the audience is in the concert hall before sneaking in so as not to cause a noticeable causative stimuli that can alert the perception of the guard
