In the ancient Sumerian society, the priests were so influential because people thought that they were the representatives of God. People beleived in God but they could not see them. The priests took advantage of the fear of god among people to become very influential in the Sumerian society. The common people were of the opinion that the Gods used to speak to them through the help of these priests. The priests were so powerful during those times that they even became rulers of certain city-states. Actually they were taking advantage of the beliefs of the common people.

Economic policy in those days was based on free access by all nations to raw materials, free markets and non-discrimination, all without regard for the interests of the indigenous people. There was little regulation or control of economic development.

Buddhism is the authority in terms of religion bu the Brahmins. The only thing
that remained in common of which both parties believes is the belief of final
release which is from the cycle of the rebirth.
In 1800s life in the US was not easy. The lands was big, wild and still mostly untamed. The travel was slow and often wrought with peril as the dangers loomed on the roads, if there were any at all. Most of the Americans, two thirds of them in fact lived near the Atlantic coast and that is within 50 miles of it. Also, west of the Appalachian mounts only one tenth of the Americans lived there.
