Which is an example of system of linear inequalities?.
labwork [276]

Example of  linear inequalities; y ≤ x – 1 and y < –2x + 1

A combination of linear inequality equations with the same variables is referred to as a system of linear inequalities.

There are five inequality symbols used to represent equations of inequality.

These are less than (<), greater than (>), less than or equal (≤), greater than or equal (≥), and the not equal symbol (≠). Inequalities are used to compare numbers and determine the range or ranges of values that satisfy the conditions of a given variable.

Example of  linear inequalities;

Graph the following system of linear inequalities:

y ≤ x – 1 and y < –2x + 1

Graph the first inequality y ≤ x − 1.

We will draw a solid border and shade below the line due to the "less than or equal to" mark.

On the same x-y axis, graph the second inequality, y -2x + 1.

In this instance, the less-than symbol will cause our boundaries to be dashed or dotted. Under the border, cast a shade.

As a result, the darker-colored zone extending indefinitely downward is the solution to this inequality problem, as seen below.

Distributive property combined like term.... 3(x+2)+14-7x
GaryK [48]
First you would distribute the 3. So it would be (3x+6)+14+7x. Since you can’t do anything inside the parentheses, you drop them. Then you’d combine like terms. 3x+7x is 10x, and 14+6 is 20. That would get you your answer, 10x+20

Hi there!

I believe your answer is:

x = 1

Here’s why:

Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

We conclude that the mean IQ of her students is different from the national average.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that the national mean (μ) IQ score from an IQ test is 100 with a standard deviation (s) of 15.

The dean of a college want to test whether the mean IQ of her students is different from the national average. For this, she administers IQ tests to her 144 students and calculates a mean score of 113

Let, Null Hypothesis, H_0 : \mu = 100 {means that the mean IQ of her students is same as of national average}

Alternate Hypothesis, H_1 : \mu\neq 100  {means that the mean IQ of her students is different from the national average}

(a) The test statistics that will be used here is One sample z-test statistics;

               T.S. = \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n} } } ~ N(0,1)

where, Xbar = sample mean score = 113

              s = population standard deviation = 15

             n = sample of students = 144

So, test statistics = \frac{113-100}{\frac{15}{\sqrt{144} } }

                             = 10.4

Now, at 0.05 significance level, the z table gives critical value of 1.96. Since our test statistics is more than the critical value of z which means our test statistics will fall in the rejection region and we have sufficient evidence to reject our null hypothesis.

Therefore, we conclude that the mean IQ of her students is different from the national average.
