To find equivalent fractions, multiply the numerator<span> AND denominator by the same nonzero whole number. This procedure is used to solve example 4. You can multiply the </span>numerator<span> and the denominator of a fraction by any nonzero whole number, as long as you multiply both by the same whole number! Hope this helped! :)</span>

Answer:

Equivalent fraction are the fractions whose simplest term is equal to simplest term of original fraction.

Equivalent fraction can be find using multiplication operation or division operation on numerator and denominator by same no.

⇒ Multiplication is used when we are given with a fraction and we need to find an equivalent fraction whose numerator and denominator is greater than given fraction.

For example,

Given fraction is \frac{4}{8}

If we need to find equivalent fraction whose denominator is 64 then we use multiplication operation.

∵ Since Denominator of given fraction is 8 and denominator of equivalent fraction is 64. ⇒ we need to multiply 8 with 8 to get 64

So, if we multiply both numerator and denominator by 8 we get an equivalent fraction with denominator 64

\frac{4\times8}{8\times8}\:=\:\frac{32}{64}

Average speed is given by total distance traveled divided the total time taken.

Given that the distance from Mason's home to their son's college campus is 154 miles, then a round trip (to and fro) <span>from their house to their son's college campus will be 2 * 154 = 308 miles and the journey took 5 and a half hours.

Therefore, the average speed is given by:

The perimeter of a rectangular garden is 860 ft. the two short sides of the garden are each 30 ft long. you are asked to find th
garik1379 [7]
<span>2(30)+2x=860

This is because the 4 sides of the rectangle add up to the perimeter.
The unknown side is x, and there are two of those, and there are also two sides of 30.
They all add up to the perimeter.

So:
2(30) + 2x = 860</span>
