Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Lightwaves travel from the air into a lens made of glass. Their velocity decreases as they enter the glass.

To Find : How does this affect the frequency and wavelength of the lightwaves

Solution:

Change in velocity does not affect the frequency of light .

So, frequency will remain same

Wavelength is the "sacrificial quantity" that adjusts to adapt to change in speed.

If it were frequency that changed, it would mean big problems for causality and conservation of energy.

Formula: c = v λ

Where c is the velocity

v = frequency

λ = wavelength

Thus the wavelength of light waves decrease as velocity decrease as they are directly proportional.

How much air can the basketball<br> hold? With a radius of 3 inches. Round to the nearest hundredth.
choli [55]

Answer:

113.10 if you use the pi button

113.04 if you use 3.14

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to find the volume

V = 4/3  pi r^3

The radius is 3

V = 4/3 pi (3)^3

Using the pi button for pi

V = 113.09734

Rounding to the nearest hundredth

V = 113.10

If you use 3.14 for pi

V = 113.04

Which is the equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through (-2, 15) and is perpendicular to 2x + 3y = 4?
Ilya [14]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

Rearrange 2x + 3y = 4 into this form

Subtract 2x from both sides

3y = - 2x + 4 ( divide all terms by 3 )

y = - \frac{2}{3} x + \frac{4}{3} ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = - \frac{2}{3}

Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_{perpendicular} = - \frac{1}{m} = - \frac{1}{-\frac{2}{3} } = \frac{3}{2}, hence

y = \frac{3}{2} x + c ← is the partial equation of the perpendicular line

To find c substitute (- 2, 15) into the partial equation

15 = - 3 + c ⇒ c = 15 + 3 = 18

y = \frac{3}{2} x + 18 → B
