So I assume you are trying to find the equation of the line.

So you are gonna use this equation:

y=mx+b

So the x and y are your x and y coordinate pair and the m is the slope. So now you just substitute and solve for b:

4=8(7)+b

4=56+b

subtract 56 on both sides

-52=b

so now lets plug this into the equation of the line:

y=8x+(-52)

hope this helps!

Use the distributive property to remove the parentheses <br> -5(-4y-w+3)
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Original Equation:

-5(-4y - w + 3)

Multiply -5 by -4y

20y

Multiply -5 by -w

5w

Multiply -5 by 3

-15

Plug these values back into the equation

20y + 5w - 15

Hope this helps :)

Estimate the solution of the system x+y=4 2x-y=6 by sketching a graph of each linear function. Then solve the system algebraical
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Answer:

(10/3, 2/3)

Step-by-step explanation:

You may find it easier to write these two equations x+y=4 2x-y=6 in a column:

x+y=4

2x-y=6

Adding these together will eliminate y:

3x = 10.  Then x = 10/3.

Substituting 10/3 for x in the first equation results in:

10/3 + y = 4

Clear fractions by multiplying all three terms by 3:

10 + 3y = 12

Then 3y = 2, and y = 2/3.

The solution is (10/3, 2/3)
