Under appellate jurisdiction cases can be heard only in the federal courts, while under concurrent jurisdiction, federal and state courts share the power to hear cases.

Unlike the concurrent jurisdiction, On appellate jurisdiction, the outcome of the decisions only affected by the power of the higher court (ie : Federal courts)
