If x is directly proportional to y and x = 6 when y = 18, what is x when y = 24?

If x is directly proportional to y, it means that as x increase, y also increases and vice versa. This could be done another way. Since I am already given a point of x and y, I could simply find the difference between x and y, which would be 12 in this case. To find the x value when y is 24, I would simply either add or subtract that difference. Depending on which of the x or y value is higher. In this case, since we are solving for y and y is larger than x, I would subtract it. Meaning x would be 12.

mihalych1998 [28]
The price of each ticket will be the slope found from the data.

Slope=m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)=(177.5-146.25)/(18-13)

m=6.25 (so the cost of the tickets is $6.25)

Now we can use any data point to solve for b, or the y-intercept of the line:

y=6.25x+b, using (177.5, 18)

177.5=6.25(18)+b

b=$65.00d

So he started with $65.00

PLEASE I’LL GIVE BRAINLIEST !!!!Complete the mapping of the vertices of ADEF.

D'=(-4,2)
E'=(-1,1)
F'=(1,5)

Hope it heled.

Please note this rotation just allows you to turn (x,y) to (y,x)

Here are the rotation rules: 90° clockwise rotation: (x,y) becomes (y,-x) 90° counterclockwise rotation: (x,y) becomes (-y,x) 180° clockwise and counterclockwise rotation: (x, y) becomes (-x,-y)

Which graph represents the given equation?
Alchen [17]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

 A

Step-by-step explanation:

The axis of symmetry of quadratic ax²+bx+c is x=-b/(2a). For the given equation, the axis of symmetry is ...

 x = -4/(2(3/2)) = -4/3

The only graph with its vertex at x=-4/3 is graph A.

_____

Additional comment

You can also make the correct choice by evaluating the equation at a couple of different values of x. Convenient ones are x= -1, or 0, or +1. The value at x=0 is the y-intercept, (0, -2), which seems to be a point on all of the graphs. The value at x=1 is 3/2+4-2 = 3.5, which looks like it is only seen on graph A.
