The tone of the article “Life Isn't Fair - Deal With It” is a deep but mild criticism for those who always feel life isn’t fair.

EXPLANATION

Mike Myatt began his writing by stating that lately, people have been arguing about the concept of fair. What is fair and what is not. Then he quoted Obama's statement about the fairness of life. Obama said, "everybody should have a fair shake." Most people who hear Obama's remarks will agree that life is not fair enough. At the end of this first paragraph, he reframed this article by asking the reader whether life is truly unfair and how the concept of fairness is.

Then he invites the reader to ponder that we have no choice about how we came into this world. We can only make choices when we start to speak, think and choose. In the beginning period, we only obey everything directed by our society: by our parents, teacher, pastor, or even by our neighbors. It is their direction that will dominate our lives later.

Mike Myatt gives readers an insight into the fairness of life through the perspective of great people (big company leaders like bill gates). Many positive statements make a person realize that life is very valuable, and life (as an adult) depends on how we determine. How is our perspective on a problem and so on?

In closing, Mike Myatt gave his view that fair is not something objective. Fair is something very subjective. Fair is how we see things, for example when we experience failure, if we see it as a spark to relearn and then become better then failure is the best teacher. While unfairness is only a defense for those who always feel underestimated or failed.

The tone of this article is highly critical towards those who complain about the challenges and adversities that life brings upon them, or that they bring upon themselves, and, instead of seeing them as opportunities to surpass themselves and even excel, they focus on feeling sorry for themselves, and expect others to feel the same way about them. They adopt a conformist attitude that might be reflecting a lack of confidence or a limited capability. Furthermore, the tone of the article is outspoken yet encouraging. Life may not be fair, and it is certainly not easy, particularly for some people, but a positive attitude and personal drive can go a long way to make the most out of it.

How can Winston from 1984 be compared to a new pair of shoes??
sammy [17]
Apparently, Winston is a drunkard in 1984. He can be compared to a rock because there's nothing new under the sun for him. He eats, drinks, and is merry. Nothing else happens and it's the same routine. However, Winston is surprisingly observant and intellectual. He keeps a diary that has his thoughts composed in them; thoughts that could result in his death. He's like a pair of new shoes because his thoughts are binging the totalitarian state to a new era. He's giving others new freedoms and he is establishing a new rebelution. (I know that's not a word, but you'll understand what it means had you have read the book.)
