Alicia buys 4 scarves. She pays $75.20 plus an additional $5.26 in tax for the scarves

Total cost paid for 4 scarves = 75.20 + 5.26 = 80.46

to find cost of 1 scarve we divide the total cost by 4

\frac{80.46}{4} =20.115= 20.12

Alicia determines that each scarf cost $20.12

We got the same cost . So Alicia's calculation is correct.

Alinara [238K]

Answer

Find out the  selling price of the scrapbook kit .

To prove

As given

I craft store retailer uses a markup rate of 65%.

A scrapbook kit cost $20 .

Than 65% is written in the decimal form.

= \frac{65}{100}

= 0.65

Mark up price = 0.65 × 20

                       = $ 13

Selling price of Scrapbook kit = Cost of Scrapbook kit + Mark up price.

                                                 = 13 + 20

                                                = $33

Therefore the  the selling price of the scrapbook kit $33.
