The surface area formula of a cone is:
=Area of base × \frac{1}{2} × perimeter of base × slant height
=\pir² + \pirl
=\pi(7)² + \pi(7)(18)
=49\pi + 126\pi
=175\pi in² (in terms of \pi)
=549.7787 in²
≈ 550 in²

If two people are trying to meet and the distance between them are 12 miles apart how long does it take them to meet each other.
murzikaleks [220]
Person a can walk 5 miles in an hour.
Person b can walk 3 miles in an hour.
They are 12 miles apart, and after an hour they have covered 8 miles.

8:1 = 12:x

8x = 12

x = 1.5

After an hour and a half, they will meet.

Check:
5 miles : 1 hour = 7.5 miles : 1.5 hours

3 miles : 1 hour = 4.5 miles : 1.5 hours

Together, they should have covered 12 miles.
7.5 + 4.5 = 12

It takes 1.5 hours to meet eachother.

What is the value of 4(x - 2)(x + 3) + 7(x - 2)(x - 5) - 6(x - 3)(x - 5) when x = 5?
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

96

Step-by-step explanation

4(x - 2)(x + 3) + 7(x - 2)(x - 5) - 6(x - 3)(x - 5)

4(5 - 2)(5 + 3) = 12(8) = 96

7(5 - 2)(5 - 5) = 0

- 6(5 - 3)(5 - 5)= 0

96+0-0 = 96
