let here North direction is along +Y and South direction is along -Y

similarly East direction is towards +X and west direction is towards -X

now it is given that

first it moves 235 km north

d_1 = 235 \hat j

then it moves back 126 km south

d_2 = - 126 \hat j

then again he moves north

d_3 = 45 \hat j

now the total displacement is given as

d = d_1 + d_2 + d_3

d = 235 - 126 + 45 = 154 km

so final displacement of train is 154 km North

What term is used to describe a system that looses energy to objects that are not part of the system
Vesnalui [34]

Answer: Open system

According to thermodynamics, if a system exchanges matter and energy with its environment it is an open system. For example, human beings and animals can be considered as open systems, since we take chemical energy in the form of food and perform work on our surrounding environment when moving and doing activities.

Please Help!!! It's for a quiz!!
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

38.8 m/s

Explanation:

Force F(x) = 6 - 2x + 6x²

work

W=\displaystyle\int_{0}^{13.9}F(x)dx=\displaystyle\int_{0}^{13.9}(6-2x+6x^2)dx

=6x-x^2+2x^3|_{0}^{13.9}\\=5261 J

W = mv²/2=7v²/2 = 3.5v² = 5261

v = 38.8 m/s

What is Marie's instantaneous speed at 20 minutes in miles/min?
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

0.25miles/min

Explanation:

Instantaneous speed of a person or an object is its speed at a particular moment usually at a period of time.

The speedometer of a car reports the instantaneous speed.

 It can be mathematically expressed as;

        Instantaneous speed  = \frac{distance}{time}

At 20min the distance covered is 5miles;

    Instantaneous speed  = \frac{5 miles }{20mins}   = 0.25miles/min
